<quote> Right on! I am glad you are still with us, and that life has come around. Your story moved me, 10 years ago I would not have understood.

I use to never think about death, or suicide and it use to never occur to me why people would do this . . . . and sometimes life really throws a curve ball.
Constant pain, no hope, no help, no one cares . . . . it adds up . . I understand, NOW I understand, didn't use to, but now I do.

8 years of constant pain was almost enough. Your never the best person to make life or death decisions when you are there in it up to your eyes.<quote>

Your right jeremy when things get that bad, your not in any position to help yourself much less make an intelligent decision. Desperate times make people desperate and do desperate things. Its human nature. My hope is that people care enough to help others out of such times.
Good post. Good thread, we should all take this to heart.

  waving thnks guys for your input.

and the beat goes on, and the beat goes on, on and on and on and on and onynnnnn. sheesh!

MM, you may not mean to sound like your above it all and that were all beneath it - but unfortunately thats the way your coming across - at least to me, i understand your stance here- but if you dont have anything constructive to add past what you have - then your just being a troll - and i dont think you mean to do that do you??

is that better?

That sounded a bit snippy. Eljay is the only one that actually tries to debate this topic with me. You have "no interest" in it or so you have told me several times, Sam. Yeah, its only the origin of humans, no big deal.

Krim, when i say it's no big deal i mean this - it does not matter to me whether we were created by some entity or whether we arose out of the slime, it [to me] has no bearing on where we are now or where we go from here.all i know is I'm alive and i did not create myself, if that's true then why am i here and who am i? what the purpose, the point? is life just a matter of being born, living, and dieing? if so then why have all these emotions, thoughts, inclinations, desires to know what lays beyond this life? it adds nothing to my search for truth of why I'm here. or why anything is here - if your right then its a useless life with nothing to look forward to - if the creationist are right its no better with some eternity with some entity who demands worship 24/7 ad infinitum. if i or JB or others are by chance right we go on in a spirituality that we have some control of for eternity, that to me is the better choice and more reasonable than the others. plus i don't believe that either the book god or evolution will ever be proven beyond every one's doubts it will remain a sticking point at east in my life time and most likely yours also, so what diff does it really make which you care to side with? what over-all personal good does it do each person in there present life? contentment of knowing this? i don't see any contentment with either for me. sorry.

I bet that monkey is sexually mature in his photo. It appears to be one of those small breeds like spider, yet its orange. I think its sitting on a human head in that photo also. It looks like its holding hair.

it kind of looks like a baby sleestack from land of the lost.

"land of the lost?"

is that a reference to the garden of eden? Or maybe the church at large today? - laugh

Ir someone is going to push for something to be taught in school, or even want it to be takin seriously at all they should be able to show some evidence of it.

school - i can see your point.

adults? how can you prove whats taken on faith?

you either believe in whats stated as proof or not, and follow it or not.

it's been debated to death on here, no one wins - you can not debate FAITH vs SCIENCE and have a definitive outcome. sorry.

Are you joking? Its been debated to death but it basically comes down to the proponents of the theory of evolution have a SUBSTANTIAL amount of credible evidence to support it's claims.

What have the Creationists been able to show Sam?

Not a dam thing. You are confusing their whining and faith based beliefs in mythology as fact.

Pfft.

i agree - what i should have said is it will never change anyone's mind no matter how much evidence or lack there of is posted it always ends with no clear gain for either side. and it continues ad nauseum - is that better?

No need to get snippy. I know that you personally do not believe in the theory of evolution and you are somewhat resentful of the concept for whatever reason. You have expressed that to me in the past. So clearly your views of "who's evidence is more factual" is going to be askew.

You can simply deny the data yet that wont somehow render it unsubstantiated. I could believe that I am a vampire and no amount of convincing will dissuade me from that belief. The same would apply here.

snippy? - amazing what people read into another's words huh? i think that's why things at times get so heated on here - it happens to/with me also. but no my lady no "snipping was meant or intended - nor do i consider your thoughts less than mine or anyone Else's. and you surely hold the upper hand when it comes to evolution. i would not dare challenge you, that would be pointless.

although from eljays post above maybe he's up for the challenge!! he seems rather sure of himself on this topic. - laugh

Getting back on topic here, how do you religious folks explain the similarities in genetic profiles between humans and chimpanzees if its all so terribly random as you seem to feel confident in proclaiming?

laugh laugh laugh laugh

boy it must be really hard for you to want to debate what you know so well and nobody to debate it with huh? your just chomping at the bit to get into it laugh

oh well - maybe some unknowing newbie will wander into your web and get eaten alive ??? is that before or after sex? i dont remember - laugh

ok so answer me this does god have the knowledge of wether we are going to go to hell or not before we are even born?
if not then how is he all knowing.
and if so then he creates people with the foreknolledge that they will go to hell.
and how is that not cruel?

Life is a gift from God. When our life begins (as in when the sperm and egg unite) we are given a life. At the moment we begin to live, God knows our entire life from beginning to end.

So say God creates Hitler and realizes what Hitler is going to do. Does God destroy Hitler? No, because Hitler is just a little baby, he's innocent. God doesn't punish the innocent. Besides, God couldn't kill baby Hitler without changing events of which God was already aware. Paradox, remember? So baby Hitler gets his chance at life to live, love and make mistakes. In the end, Hitler will be punished according to his actions.

God isn't "all knowing". God knows everything that has, is or will happen. If something will never happen, God doesn't know about it.

Overcoming paradox isn't a matter of power. A paradox cannot exist, therefore God cannot create a paradox. In 1909, God knew the Holocaust would happen, but ONLY because the Holocaust was going to happen. God cannot change what he knows will happen.

then he is "finite" and not worthy to be called god or worshipped as god.

And yet he interferes throughout the old testament - that's ignorant spider - you cant say he can interfere with Pharaoh and other kings and rulers and other peoples and then turn around and state he cant interfere with Hitler- WTF??

he "knew what Pharaoh would do when he grew up supposedly, and the others also and the ways of Sodom and Gomorrah and the tribes he destroyed [Canaanites etc..] yet you say he was powerless to interfere with Hitler or Mussolini or Japan, or Korea or Vietnam or or now - BS!!

debating the bible is like debating history - every one has their own take on things and never the twain shall meet. I believe even if we had lived in those times there would still be arguments and rebukes just as there were between Paul and peter and James supposedly? if they couldn't or didn't agree on what was correct then, and they were filled with the all knowing spirit of god/Jesus, how can any now days be sure of what is truth and fiction - what is correct or lies - what is of man and or supposedly god/Jesus?? debating any history is a shot in the dark at least, and a guess at the authors agenda[s] at worst.it leads nowhere and ends with nothing gained but self-satisfaction for some maybe. and that's really worthless in the long run.

why do i participate then?

only because once in awhile i see something so blatently wrong i cannot help but respond. sorry if that offends anyone. TS
