Several reasons come to mind, like lack of communication, un-met needs, anger towards s/o, opportunity to stroke that ego, hurt towards the s/o other with retaliation, dealing with your evil seductive girlfriend, just to see if we are still attractive to someone else, wanting variety,shouold I go on?

It's a mind set that you have to define within yourself, becasue you'll be challenged daily on the when and why's you are to stay committted.

Depends on what day you ask them and if they have asked the opinion of several girlfriends, but more times than not "nice guy's" make nice doormats but hey if you can stand it there may be some benifits.

Think of it a you would any "tool in your box", set no expectations of anything you may "think", be cautious and go woth your gut feelings they always come back to tell you "I told you so", other than that be prepared to put up with alot of "faceless" wanta be's who have more time to play that you have time to keep up with.
