Morning Kiss


Waves crashed
against the rocky shore
washing away the footprint’s memory
leaving in its stead
a sensual calm
of what the world could be

The moment made it seem as if life
was a romantic poem
authored by the gentle mist
the sunset was the ink
and the beauty of dreams
were the clouds wish

Pause,
deep breath
midnight was next stanza
exhale, the waves have calmed
and the stars begin to sing
as if life was an opera

Hope was now dressed
in the quiet hours

when the sun

with its morning kiss
