Religion is fun not boring! One can create the best fantasy stories of all time! Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien is the study of Norse religions well mythologies now and Narnia by CS Lewis are the studies of Christianity into a fantasy world are but a couple of examples. If one studies religion, linguistics, mythologies, and philology one can create the greatest stories for entertainment purposes of all time. You should join all the clapping and singing and happy speeches . Oops....did I say speeches ?. I can not stand them.   .

As I am getting older I want to be married before I die. Age is just a number . You should take one day at a time . All people in this site are in the same boat and are looking for friends and spouses . However lots of them are having fun and enjoying themselves in emails , IM , and forums . Marriage is not an obligation on people and when the time is right it will come withoiut one knowing it . I got two divorces and I am so happy now as if I was born yesterday . I knew some wonderful people here and I am sure you can make many friends . Be optimistic , see life as it is and not as it should be . One day you will have a sweet heart and a wife . Take care and make yourself happy . I am sure you can . |

everyone seems to want change, but none seems to want to vote for it. we have tried the democrats, and found out that they dint work. we have tried republicans and they don't work. so why is it that we put the same type of people in office? I just wanted to see your opinions on this. I would appreciate straight answers, but I already know that there are going to be some jokers here, so I welcome you here too. There are two problems why a change can not occur to elect an independent or one who is not a Dem. or a rep. : 1 : The money as any campaign needs too much money . 2 : The media do not take other candidates seriously and obviously the media is controlled by interest groups . Are these the problems that your country is having or America? America and the rest of other countries . |

But religion has no place in politics! I agree. Religion should not be involved with politics. It is reality and sad enough , if you are a religious person , your religion will affect your politics . It does not mean I agree with it but it is done like that . For instance all Jews around the world support Israel by all means because Israel is a Jewish state . |

Perhaps there will be a day when the Republican side as of the Democratic presidential candidates stand on stage in front of a news channel and Chris Mathews asks that one question like they did this year: Tell me how important is religion to you," as he points at the first candidate. That candidates says," Religion is the thing of the past. What is important is we get this country back on track again! Now imagine the first agnostic or atheist president. Would you think it would be a good idea or bad? I think as long as he can preserve peace and keep the economy going without putting us further in debt, it would be a great thing and it doesn't matter. Now you tell me! I think it will be an excellent idea . He will see all people the same . In few years it might happen and I do not see why not . |

People turned to religions in many circumstances such as death of a loved one or a friend , in disasters such as starvation , earthquakes...etc. Humans had thousands and not just hundreds of religions . they worshipped stones , rocks , animals , people like you and I ....etc . Recently in India some people who had no rain at all for over a year , made some celebrations whereas they performed marriages of DONKEYS to please and worship their god in hope to receive a favour of rain .So the necessity of life forced humans to create their own gods and therefore their religions . Of course from thousands of religions , you always find a person who likes this one or that one and obviously think all the rest are myths or a farce . Religions have many similarities and this is because those who come up with a new religion always copy from others . So god is a person for some and an animal for others ....etc. I am happy that all religions are losing ground with the people and this is due to science and technology .As far as the existence of a god or gods , I am sure the guessing will continue . |

Religion is the cause of the majority of war Religion is the cause of ALL wars. Can you think of a war that was not waged over some religious dogma? If you think that religion is the CAUSE of all wars or even the majority of war you do not understand how the world works. Greed is the cause of wars. Religion and fear and terrorism is the fuel that keeps the fires of war going. Greed is the cause. The people behind the wars sell weapons to both sides, and steal the real wealth which is property and gold etc. JB Now they are after oil ,oil and more oil too . |

We are human. We try and we fail. Because we have failed in past should we never try again? The Constitution is a beacon of hope, it points to what should be, it lives, it provides guidance and sets clear standards. Remember, the people who conceived this document did not all agree. See the Federalist Papers, but they forged this document anyway. Remember too that the people who formed this nation and sought independence were doing something unprecedented at the time. Success in securing independence meant, without clear guidelines anarchy and with clear guidelines uncertainty at best, in the future. Also remember that no country at the time had successful gained independence from England. Failure meant almost certain death for the founders. Why try? Because if we don't we are unworthy of the freedom we have gained and are surely on the path to losing it. Any nation with no sound and just laws becomes a JUNGLE . |

everyone is missing the big picture if and i say IF you keep the """"PEOPLE"""" fighting among themselves then the """PEOPLE""" are distracted from what the govt is really doing like passing the patriot act of 2001 (Google it as written) you get everyone hating something and then the govt can pass legislation to """protect you from that which you hate""" and in the process you lose a few more rights and liberties everyone should be judged on their own merits there are good and bad in every sect of every society Divide and conquer is a hell of an agenda these days . |

Your own opinion should be able to carry you thru. I got plenty of opinions. I know 2 people who are literally "In the War".....don't want either one of them there. If it makes me a Punk or disloyal...so be it....I don't want more of my friends to get "Messed up"...I am not a War Fan.......not my fault. If taking a life of an innocent human being is not important then what is important in this planet ?. Wars cause the deaths of innocent people . I hope men and women will appreciate peace and spread it around the globe . No to violence , no to wars . Yes and yes to love and peace . PEACE..........................TO...........ALL... |

I would have to say that both parties are in the wrong. it is again freedom of the press with the cartoon, but the professor could have been more professional with his letter. as far as I know Muhammad being portrayed as a terrorist does not fall under slander in the legal since. Since when did you become a scholar and a lawyer ?.  .
