I was seperated from my ex since 2003 and got my divorce finalized late last year. Sometimes getting a divorce isn't that easy, since I couldn't find him for so long. 
Kitten I guess it is different in each state. I was married in Ohio in 1981. My ex could have had a divorce in 6 months if he would have gone for "no fault" but he wanted to be an @ss & made up lies. No way I was going to sign that. I'm in Ohio also and really agonized over what may happen because the laws here are so weird. For instance, he is entitled to half of my pension, even though he doesn't have one. He wanted to wait to "see where we were" in 2 months. I said no way!! We have quite a bit of property and this could have been real nasty, but we both decided to work it out, rather than fatten a couple of attorneys wallets. All of our communication is by mail because I don't want to talk to this moron that is sucking precious air. |

I am seperated. Which means to me that I do not LIVE with my soon to be ex-husband. We'd been married 16 years and he left 2 months ago because he "found the love of his life", who is also married by the way. I filed for divorce the next week and hopefully we will have this nasty little process completed within the next 30 days. Life is too short. Would I date? You bet!! Why should I sit here when we both know its' over while he is living with another woman, who hasn't filed yet by the way. Each situation is different and I couldn't be happier with mine right now. I want to move on.
