your son wont qualify for the army. i have a son that is a specail needs child, and he lives with my mom, and right after he graduated, she got a phone call from the army to see if he would want to sign up. and my mom told them, you can take him but he cant read and he wont understand.. as for the job corps, i dont know if he would understand that either, i was in there 26yrs ago for brief time and i didnt like it |

Hi, was just looking to see if anyone has had experience with the Job Corps. My son can graduate this spring. He is in a special ed program. His teachers want him to continue in school, but he really really doesn't want to do that. He mentioned joining the army, but I'm not sure he is mature enough for that. Then he talks about going to college. He doesn't understand how difficult that would be. He just isn't college material. A friend recommended the Job Corps and I just wanna find out from people with personal experience if they think it would be beneficial for my son. Any input is appreciated. Thanks! |

just because someone is a convicted sex offender does not mean they are a bad egg. There is a wide range of crimes that can force a person to have to register that are actually quite innocent I know a guy who is 28 he kissed a girl who was 16, he took a 4th degree felony plea as to not disrupt his and his families lives so he has to register... I mean how bad is that to kiss a 16 year old.... but he's a sex offender now.... |

just out of curiosity where are they supposed to live just because one commits a crime against another does not mean they would do so to you there is no justifiable excuse to commit a violent crime but in their mind it may have been a vengience thing i hear all the time rape is more a power issue than a sexual issue if they have no reason to have power over you then the chances they would rape you would go down wouldn't they ---------- disclaimer i am a guy (altho handicapped and a possible target to violent crime ) i can not understand the rape issue from the female outlook i can only relate by what i have been exposed to |
