I beg to differ on this point..by what yardstick are you using to measure the "successes of America's Global War on Terror"? there have been no measurable decreases in terrorist activities worldwide, the number of terrorists cells have increased, especially in Iraq,
is the news that far behind in Argentina... |

it's interesting to read up on the writers of the articles it copies and pastes......it's just another biased BS article just like that last 100 or so it copied and pasted.....

seeing how close the action is getting to us and the fact that Canada sort of forgot about the military when the Liberals were in power I traded in my vehicle for something more appropriate but I have to admit it's not that good on fuel....

I just realized that the title of this thread is wrong and in my opinion intentionally misleading.. these were not War Crimes....in fact in Iraq the only ones guilty of war crimes are the insurgents intentionally killing innocent citizens.... I would like to place emphasis on intentionally killing innocent civilians. thanks yank it is not a war crime....it is a crime.... why is it that you don't post any stories about how the terrorists use mentally handicapped women, strap C4 around their waist and send them to a location where many innocent civilians are and set the bomb of remotely....you must support the terrorists as you put all your effort into trashing the US and say nothing about the daily atrocities of the terrorists. Do you even know what the rules of engagement were before the recent surge. Do you know that even when a soldier was shot at he had to get an ok from his commander before he could fire back and if that insurgent had dropped the gun he had used to try to kill the soldier the US soldier was unable to fire on him.... Why do you even live in the US? |

My interest would be isolationism for the US. Then you wouldnt have to worry about it!! you might have to worry about "it" but there would a bunch of other more serious problems you'd have to worry about... |

The difference between what you say is totally polar to what most Canadians say!
maybe the ones you normally come across in the forums but if you have some time one day goggle fro some info on the health care system in Canada...I'm not saying the health care in the US is in good shape, I'm just saying socialized health care isn't the way to go. |

no it will not be free, you need to read the fine print or listen to the whispered disclaimers. you will be forced to buy into the insurance scheme, failure to do so would mean garnishment
up here north of the border it's hidden in the other taxes that are withheld on a paycheck and no one knows how much they are paying for healthcare....and please take a look at social healthcare if you think it might be a good idea....we have a two tier healthcare where if you have the money you have a better chance to get what you want when you want it...and if that doesn't work some go to the US because of the waiting periods up here... for an example I would have waited 9 months to get MRI for my back and neck due to a car wreck but since my insurance paid for it I got it in 2 days..... you know, you are the one living with the universal coverage system so I defer to you on it, all I can say is that from the reading Ive done on the medical system it seems to be the same everywhere there is universal coverage, long waits for appointments. so the arguement for it down in the states is not looking so good, i know that i wouldnt want it. (even tho i kinda do with the military) the health care is a federal scheme but there are province who are trying to start up two tier systems because of the poor state the health care is in. The feds are trying to shut them down because they are scared to lose their control. The feds don't want people to opt out of their health care since their tax dollar is needed to pay for those who don't. It's a socialist system that doesn't work.... |

Sounds like you might be one of those shareholders. That is the name of the shareholding game. The corp. wins, you get paid. They lose, You pay. That is also why there is the FDIC. All the interest we pay in adds up to trillions. Let the bank do it's job, and cough up the money for their own mistakes. It's not like it will hurt the bank in a bad way. AND they can claim a bigger loss on THEIR taxes and get most of it back anyway!!!
so you'd not tell the old lady walking in front of you that she dropped a $100.00 bill on the ground...it was her mistake and you have no problem picking it up for yourself.. |

If I did that then I would be grossly incompetent and would call myself a dumbass! Are you that careless with your money? I'm not!!! that wasn't the question.....would you not ask for your money back? |

northrn your avie is giving me a headache... ain't she cute?... |

OK, if the money had been in your bank account who would you be pissed at the man they gave it to or the bank? The bank is quilty of incompetence. the bank of course but then I make mistakes as well so what's the big deal...the law is you can't enrich yourself by mistake at someone else's expense...that protects all of us is making a mistake....you, me and the bank who is owned by shareholders.... I accept responsibility for my mistakes!!! you probably do but you do have limits ?...if you mistakenly put thousands of $$$$$ in an atm deposit into your exes account by mistake would you not ask for that money back?... |

Aye, Aye Trial by jury!! whose paying for it?..seems like you missed this the first time around... it's really simple common law principle that covers this issue and there is not viable chance this dolt would ever be successful at trial. It's an old principle that has been relied on since before 1900... if the money is paid out in error then the receiver does not legally own the money because it is inequitable that he should keep...the inequitable principle is root of the enrichment principle...no one should unjustly enrich themselves at the expense of someone else.... not really missing the point, just having a little fun.... the guys going to be ordered to pay some sort of restitution, its pretty much all there is to it, but if he has a good lawyer i'd say sue the bank for mental damages caused by not taking the money back in the first place.... tort reform needs fixed in this country maybe this will put a spot lite on that as well. I know you were just having fun on your island...I was thinkin fanta missed it.... |

Then there is one more law that needs to be changed. To me that sounds like a special law to make the rich richer. There is nothing wrong with being wealthy, and striving to become more so. However, such a law makes sure the one who pays for the bank’s error is not the one who made it.
if you lost your purse and it had all your money in it some ID but the person who found it took all your the money and threw purse away do you think that person should be able to keep your money and not be forced to give it back to you if caught...after all it was your mistake for losing your purse... |
