Wow, this is the answer!

I had a very long relationship with my ex wife, 20 years and it turned out she is a pathological narcissist. In fact, both our daughters live with me.
Then I had a 3 years relationship with a woman that ended up being a chronic victim player.
They just were not able to love.
The first, not even her kids (and herself, only her image).
The second, too concentrated in judging or inventing my faults.
True love does not mean you love a perfect person because this assumes you are perfect as well.
Like a parent that would not stop loving their kids even if they become criminals, love is accepting the other as he is... assuming he is not psychopathic :)
So, love must be true or it's just a surrogate.
