To me this sounds to be a very odd situation. I think before getting more attached or persuing this female further, perhaps an honest inquiry would be in order. You have nothing to lose, expressing your concern is in your best interest so that you are not taken advantage of or hurt if there is alternative motives. I always like to try the honest semi-blunt approach when situations arise, don't make it offensive but more concerned. The worst that can happen is you find out the truth, or you further feel deceived. Either way you can make a logical decision accordingly.
