Passion's Song

Oh, Firefly, drifting o'er the meadow,
with golden flame aglow... would you embrace this gentle wind and some sweet pleasure know? Could you let me lift you high, dancing in the breeze? Would you receive my soft caress, gliding through the trees? Please listen to my whisper, "Come fly with me tonight. Hold me close and dance aloft, til early morning's light." Or could you be a candle bright, as breezes soft caress? Would you build into a flame, Love's sweet passions to posess? Oh come and dance with me sweet flame, and passion's magic share, then resting in love's sweet embrace... abandon every care. Steve Hodgin Copyright 1986 I wrote this poem inspired by a beautiful red haired girl I had seen in 1986. I am posting it inspired by one I saw on here just a few minutes ago. steven |

Why bother dating a girl at all in that case? Just take some garlic and onions to dinner and set them across from you. That way you know you will be taking your date home with you, and if they accidentally fall in your lap during dinner, all the other restaurant patrons will not be staring in disbelief

I sit alone and contemplate that I am as a craft upon the sea with every element of nature my friend or enemy Through every type of weather through darkness or the light sunshine with work or pleasure many, the storm tossed night Though my course is set before me I sometimes lose my way sometimes tossed upon the sea with bearings lost I stray But in the compass of my heart you are true north to me and this, your love I cherish my port of call shall be So through the darkest night or every sunny day I set my sails and pray for wind that I may come your way Your love is like a lighthouse which guides me on my way your love is like a tower, high to guide me through each day The hope of love sustains me though distant you may be It is enough to know you love me through all eternity |

I am new to this site but in the few days I have been here I have enjoyed a lively assortment of messages and meeting of new and some old)friends. I look forward to sharing my poetry and life with you and hopefully just one special person may come into my life as as the frosting on an already good cake. steve
