This is an interesting yet old topic. Generalizing any group is always a bad start as there are always exceptions and I doubt anyone has dated enough to get an accurate sampling to come to any conclusion. Typically people (men and women) tend to go for the same types over and over (i.e. make the same mistakes). It is not the people you pick to date that are the problem, it is that you pick the wrong people. Break the chain of mistakes and try a different type. And yes as many have said, be yourself. If you want someone for a long term relationship and you attract their attention by being someone else, then you will need to keep being someone else to keep them. Be yourself and stick with the ones who like and accept you for who you are. If you're in it for the short term, lie and be whoever she want you to be.
