I get emails in my Verizon account that read "There are four people on Just Say Hi that want to meet you" then when I get here, no one wants to meet me. This happens alot. ?? There are no new mutual matches or anything? what's up with this??

Probably scammer accounts that have just enough time to select you before they are deleted. I get those seemingly false notices too.

For the sake of creationists around the world, who would like to insist on a verbatim biblical interpretation of the world. The following is why this cannot possibly be the case.

Let’s forget about earthy biological evolution for a moment, and take a look at the universe as a whole.

It says in the Bible that on the first day God created the Heavens and the earth.

Ok, we look out into the universe what do we see? We see galaxies that are clearly million of light-years away from us. There can be no question concerning their distance for the simple reason that in order for them to be close they would need to be ultra miniature in size. Since this would violate every law of physics known to man we can dismiss it. Either the galaxies really are millions of years away from us, or all of physics is wrong,…

OR we might want to imagine that God is a deceitful deity and created the world in such a was as to deceive us. However most people don’t want to believe that God is deceitful so we can rule out the last idea.

Clearly all of physics can’t be wrong or our nuclear generators and submarines wouldn’t be working, not to mention all our other technological toys. Therefore we have no choice but to conclude that the universe itself is at least millions of years old, or older. Therefore the universe itself certainly could not have been created a mere 6,000 years ago. So this is well-established by simple observations that any reasonable person can clearly follow.

Now what about the earth itself?

Well, again, as we observe the universe around us we see stars of all stages of development. Thanks to physics, spectroscopy, accelerator laboratories, and our own nuclear technological developments we have learned a great deal about how stars are born, grow old, and die. This process is understood in amazing detail that I can only wish I had the time to properly convey here. The bottom line is that our technology would not work if our physics was wrong. So it can’t be wrong.

In any case, we see stars form, with planetary systems. We have observed, first hand, that many newly born stars are encircled by large clouds of dust and debris that forms a disk and finally accumulated into planets. We have seen this by observing a large number of star systems in various stages of development.

We also have precise mathematical laws of gravity and other physics that describe this process in amazing detail to the point where we can even put these models into computer simulations and watch as they do the same thing we observe to be happening in the universe. Clear evidence that we have these laws of physics down pretty well.

So where does all this lead?

Well, it leads to the reasonable conclusion that our earth was formed in the same way that all the other planets in the universe are formed. And that process clearly takes hundreds of thousands of years just to form the planets, and then millions of years beyond that to produce the geological features that we observe on our planet to day (forget about any biology!).

In short, the universe is telling us that the earth could not possibly have been formed in 6 earth days. Thus the universe grossly disagrees with religious doctrines that claim that the earth was formed in 6 days, or that it is only a mere 6,000 years old today. The earth must necessarily be millions of years old even if it was a dead planet with no life at all.

So there we go.

In order for the assertions of Creationists to be correct concerning the earth’s age, all of physics, astronomy, spectroscopy and many other scientific fields would need to be wrong

And we haven’t even come to any discussion about biology yet.

To believe the Creationist’s literal biblical account of Creation we must denounce all of physics and observational astronomy. There’s simply not other reasonable choice.

The only other possible explanation would be a deceptive God. A God that really did create all of this in 6 earth days, but then made it appear and work as though it had taken millions of years to come to be.

That’s it. The only two choices for a verbatim interpretation of the Bible.

1. All of physics and science if wrong and our nuclear power plants and submarines don’t really work.
2. God really did create the world in 6 days, but he also is a deceptive God and made it appear to violate his inspire book.

In short, the biblical account does not match reality. Either the Bible is a lie, or Reality is a lie. Take your choice,…

OR,…

Don’t take the Bible so damn literally in the first place.

But that’s a whole differnet can of worms. bigsmile

Excellent post.

The main problem with the application of Biblical literalism is indisputably tied to ignorance or premeditated manipulation during translatory phases, and the ignorance of it's consumers in general. Being taught to think (believe) only within the bounds of a certain framework is not conducive to the development of problem solving skills, in regard to the subject involved.
"Yom" (from which the Greeks derived their term "aeon", meaning indeterminate period of time) is as good an example as any, being translated as "day" for the Genesis creation epic.

If I was in charge of my own evolution, I would have definitely kept the wings.

This whole retarded argument is like watching kids argue on the playground. Evolution has no solid case and anyone willing to look at the facts of DNA would have to come to that conclusion. On the other hand, I don't exspect anyone who hasn't experienced what God is for themselves to understand. That's Gods job.

Why aren't we seeing mixes of DNA right now and intermitant species and different levels of man. Because there isn't any and never will be.

My faith has had oodles of physically manifested and supernatural evidence, but all you weazers can say and ever have said is "good for you, if it works for you". Du-uh, a miracle slaps you in the face and you STILL deny it, how stupid can a smart man be. Cop outs.

I see Abra is still fighting himself. THEY buggin you Abra?laugh

Regarding genetic mutation (DNA), I suppose, for starters, that we should just disregard procreation? How about viruses? EM? Radiation?

whether thats cloning, another race or whatever, that is my prediction of the next most popular theory.

Too late.....You're way behind the curve. Already been done, c.5000BC, re: Sumerian "Epic of Creation", c.1200BC, Re: Babylonian "Enuma elish" (a rework of the original). Both of them indisputable original sources for the content of "Genesis".

did I fall into a time warp that leads to the dark ages?

It's a sign of the times. You know the DNA has been atrophying for a long time, but some people have dropped a few more key sequences than have others.

anyone ever go outside to get the papers on sunday, and the Jehovas witnesses are right there

I had a pair that would beat on my apartment door unmercifully every Saturday morning. After about 3 weekends of ignoring them, I finally got mad enough to snatch the door open and say, "What?!". They asked me if I knew the One and Only True God.
I said, "Of course! My Lord Satan is well known to me!". They ran; they ran away r-e-a-l-l-y fast. I never saw them again. I laughed for a full 5 minutes.

DISCLAIMER: I am not now, nor have I ever been, in league with the Dark Lord, his minions, or any other subordinate forces thereof.

The question I want answered is
"who is writing the 'Mein Kampf' of Bush?"
I tend to stay away from this 9/11 topic because there just no winning.
Its not the govt. its not the bush admin.
"all roads lead to rome" applies here..

Read the story of alberto rivera; x-Jesuit priest under extreme oath induction (died/murdered depending on what you believe in 1997)
its completely unrelated to the 9/11 events but after you read it, and if you believe it, you will see that all roads indeed lead to rome.

I examined the Alberto Rivera case quite some time ago. Despite the undeniable fact that he lied voluminously, I agree with some of his allegations, but certainly not all. The responsible parties are part of a global network of influential puppet-masters with no central core. It is typical of the organizational structure of a terrorist network, and nigh unfathomable.

That's a GREAT philosophy!

Seriously it is, and I applaud it.

I only hope for the sake of those you encounter that your worship of indulgence includes a code of not harming others in the process. flowerforyou

It is actually in the Satanic Bible. Do what you wish without harming others. Harming others means leaving the country or jail. How could I enjoy my carnal desires if I am always on the run? It's detremental to my whole philosophy to hurt someone.

Not intending judgment in any way, shape, form or fashion I have an honest question.

As far as I can see, your philosophical requirements could easily be met by Epicurean Hedonism, so why drag Ol' Nick into it? He's just as fictional as.....well....some others.

Is it the shock factor, when you get to say "I'm a Satanist.", or what?

What I meant is that
despite all the evidence
to the contrary, that
there was NOT a government
conspiracy, people still
refuse the believe the
data and go with whatever
pet conspiracy theory
suits their fancy.

It all stems from the
stupid single or multiple
bullet conspiracy theories.

It's like why can't
these conspiracy theorists
accept the possibility that
Oswald was acting alone?

I like you, therefore I do so hate to rain on your sunny view of me, but I must clarify:

I AM one of those Conspiracy Theorists of which you speak. I meant my comments above in precisely the opposite manner in which you apparently interpreted them. Odd, isn't it, how one's personal views determine the perception of what we experience?

I believe our government is either guilty to the bone regarding 9-11, or is utterly incompetent. Either is totally unacceptable, in my opinion. Cover-ups of evidentiary discoveries and analytical data are still being orchestrated on demand, while those already existing are being maintained or smoke-screened as needed.

9-11 was definitely our Reichstaag incident for this cycle. There have been many others in the history of our country.

I saw an interesting article on the net about 911 and they are speaking that the government was involved or let it happen anyone have any thoughts on this topic?

No disrespect intended.......

It's just that there's been more internet time logged on this topic than even porn. It has taken on a quasi-religious status of it's own, separating people like very few things are capable of doing.

Most people at least by now, know or suspect that something is rotten in the state of Denmark (no offense Danes), but they are too terrified to come to terms with the possibility that their wondrous, faith-based government could have had a collusory role in the events of 9-11. It's the same mentality that makes them bury their heads in the sand if they hear something that might cause them to question their religious faith.

All the technical work has been done, and despite blatant, obvious facts, there are still many who will refuse to see the truth. Statistical data can be pruned, massaged and manipulated to either prove or disprove anything, but the basic , hard, cold, factual observations remain. All of the other BS is just used as an obfuscation of the truth.

If you're an atheist, why do you care so much about raptures and why do you read the bible....and...do you use God's name in vain..and Jesus'..and do you celebrate Christmas or have Easter dinner...I'll bet you'd be real pi**ed if you didn't holiday pay for those Christian Holidays....

huh laugh
Puh-lease!! No one gets holiday pay for Easter anyway. As far as I am concerned, the establishment of Christmas as a federal holiday is a violation of the 1st Amendment, because it's very name promotes one religion over any other. Although, at the state level, a prohibition would not be required, except that most state constitutions mimic the original. This is not the first time that I've heard this "holiday overtime" rationale, and it's pretty weak. Regardless, they all started as "heathen" holidays.
