Wonder when the entitlement crowd will start screaming about this article? I must say that the author of this article has my respect for a well thought out and presented case. Wait for it. They will come with the character assassination of Mychal Massie. Not one word will be said to debate what he wrote. |

The foundation of the 'constitution is in the magna carta, which was the european common government of the 14th century. The governing system you're using, not the specific document itself, is actually 700 years old, only marginally more advanced than the arabs, and completely missed out on all the evolution of peerage and parliamentary representation. You're just using a really old mediaeval form of government barely any more evolved than the arabs. You don't get that, I know, but there you go. And that has what to do with a member of congress saying our constitution is 400 years old? One would think an elected official who took an oath to uphold and defend the constitution should know at the very least when it was adopted. |

It's all part of the purge to clear the way for the Ice Queen in 2016 Oh, sure. The IRS consults with President Obama on all day-to-day operations. Nevermind that the tax-exempt status is not for political groups. They just want that status so they can pour $millions in dark money into elections. You of course have Insider-Status with both,IRS and those groups? I really wonder sometimes where you pull those things out of,since you rarely if ever link to any source for the INFO you post! Liberal talking points rite from MSNBC |

doesn't the constitution OUTLINE the things the oath doesn't specifically mention,, therefore making those things also part of the oath? doctors don't take oaths that state specifically they will 'save lives' or 'reduce pain',,,, but its part of their job when they 'do no harm' Drs aren't responsible for defending the rights of the nation.... so get a clue! Their oath is to do no harm and preserve life. Obozo claims the right to take life at his whim, without due process....and has done so, even that of an innocent 18 year old boy and his friends at a BBQ that wasn't the question let me rephrase if the constitution outlines the responsiblilities of the branches of government and in the OATH it refers specifically to executing the OFFICE OF PRESIDENT doesn't that , by definition, imply that he will be carrying out those responsibilities outlined in the constitution? why would he/she need to redundant by spelling out those duties again in their oath? a US President has their authority/responsibilities outlined in the Constitution, by swearing to preserve it, they are making an oath to adhere to it,,,aren't they? Defending the constitution and the peoples rights under it does not mean imposing mandates, restrictions or controlling. His job is overseeing the protection of those rights, defense of the nation, and making sure the legislative and judicial branches protect those same rights of the people they ALL swore and oath to protect and defend......not dictating what those rights are Bills are created in the House, passed or sent back by the Senate, and made law by the Executive. The POTUS has no power to create laws! I agree but the potus can manage the office of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH with 'orders' that assist in the proper execution of the 'laws' A law is a law as it is writen. Not to be changed by the stroke of a pen by anyone. |

U.S. women’s hockey goalie Jessie Vetter had an awesome concept for her 2014 Sochi Olympics mask: Using actual 23 karat gold in the paint – hey, she’s going for gold, right? – and adorning it was inspiring American iconography. One of the images was of the Constitution’s famous opening line, “We The People” and some text from that historic document. But when Vetter takes the ice for Team USA next month, it won’t be found on her mask – the International Olympic Committee ruled it had to be deleted. “[It] had to be removed because no writings of any kind to promote the country is allowed,” Slater explained in an email to InGoal. “A sort of ‘our country is better than your country” kind of thing that the IOC frowns upon. Her name had to come off because they see it as self promotion. They wanted everything to be team based. … Our original idea was ‘land of the free, home of the brave,’ and that would have had to have been removed as well.” The IOC’s Rule 51 bans any sort of advertising, demonstration, and/or propaganda on an athlete's equipment at the Olympics. American men’s hockey goalies were hit with the regulation in the 2010 Vancouver Games, as Jonathan Quick’s “support our troops” slogan and Ryan Miller’s “Matt Man,” a tribute to his late cousin who died of leukemia, were stripped from the mask designs. Vetter and Slater were able to keep a USA logo, the Statue of Liberty and a bald eagle on the mask, as apparently none of that is propaganda. Here's the new back to the mask. Look, the Olympics have any number of silly restrictions on freedom of expression, and the idea that the U.S. Constitution is seen as “propaganda” rather than a procedural document establishing societal and governmental rules is asinine. It’s not like the preamble reads, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union and be soooo much better than you unwashed heathens across the oceans …” But our real question here: If Jessie Vetter can’t have a few words of the Constitution on her mask, why can Team Slovakia have their ENTIRE NATIONAL ANTHEM sewn into their hockey sweaters? http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olympics-fourth-place-medal/jessie-vetter-olympic-goalie-mask-u-constitution-removed-165941958--oly.html This is ABSOLUTLY asinine. Then why is any country allowed to have their country on their uniforms. Why have winners and losers? Isn't the national antem of the country who won the gold promoting that country? As long as they are at it why even have winners and losers? there should be no gold, silver, and bronze medals handed out. Just give them all a participation medal. would it make people happier if there were no winners or losers? of course not,, teams place and win,, and they could do it by each wearing a different color jogging suit, it would still distinguish them from each other when it comes time for the accolades,,, the point of a winner and loser is no diminished by regulations on attire,,,,,perhaps they should sew the constitution into their shirts as well for now they have the statue of liberty and bald eagle, and the USA logo,,, But isn't having USA, or CHINA, or JAPAN, or RUSSIA, or any other country "PROMOTING" said country? And isn't playing a countries national anthem "PROMOTING" that country? |

Personally I don't think a president should take any vacations. What they "work" for 4 years possibly 8. Then they don't have to work a day in their lives again. The rest of their life is a vacation. psychologically , people need time to rejuvenate, certainly more than once every four to eight years such a proposal leads to exhaustion of the mental, emotional and physical type, not to mention it ignores the significance of family and family time together,,, They could take stay cations. They will have enough time to travel wherever they want after their term is up. |

50 years ago LBJ started "The War On Poverty"
Yet trillions of dollars and 50 years later we are still at the same poverty rate and growing. Is it time we look at the failed policies of this war and try something new? Or do we settle for the status quo and just keep pumping money into the war? Where has all the money gone? |

[Do not forget what he said about blacks ... ...They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues." Phil Robertson He said that black Americans were godly. That's a problem because ...? lol,my understanding is that he said it to imply that slavery and jim crow wasn't so bad,,lol but lots of people believe that, and he is entitled to his opinion and his job if the sponsors and audience want to keep watching,,, he was born in 1946, so IM sure he never really 'heard' any slaves say anything,,lol but he may have been drawing from his experience with 'the help' , who knows... A lot of ASSUMING going on. Maybe some should do some research about Phil and how he grew up. And acctually read what he said and not what some have spun what he said as to what they think he meant by what he said. |

...And we all know how Healthy the state of healthcare was before the Affordable Care Act... And passing a law making it worse is helping how? |
|

I wouldn't call it a hidden impact. These things were all brought up before it was passed into law. But the democrats called them lies and said it would lower the costs.
If anything the law should be repealed because nothing is happening the way democrats said it would if the law passed. And Obama has been delaying and changing it as he pleases. |
