A group of people that meet up twice a month to work on various types of needle crafts (stitching) and talk and eat.

And now I have a date with shampoo, a shower, a blow dryer and a flat iron.

There has got to be an easier way to straighten hair.

I think it is true. Look at children's literature. What was written for younger readers a hundred years ago is now considered high school reading.

One of the foremost children writers of my childhood has stopped writing kids books and only writes for adults now because parents started getting pissed off at the fact she wrote about serious topics in her kids books. As if kids are supposed to be protected from having to deal with puberty, with the death of a loved one, from the sad things in life a that happen.

If kids can't read about these things in the safety of a child's book, and parents don't want people expose their children to these things, then how do we expect children to be able to face the death of a grand parent or a parent or a school mate. Because most of the parents that don't want their kids exposed are also not discussing it with the children.

Look at t.v. and movies. The intellectual quality gets lower and lower and lower every decade. It's as if there is an attempt to lower the overall public intellect and awareness so that people are easier to "guide" and "control".

The old theory that people didn't have enough access to information to make knowledgeable decisions on policy so we need our politicians to do it for us doesn't hold water anymore.

So there has to be a way to make people more docile and controllable so they can keep the power in their hands and not in the hands of the general populous.

I'm coloring my hair a deeper, darker shade. I'm rather hoping to get it done and styled so I can get a couple pictures at my stitching group to post.

But I may not have that much time to get it styled properly. I should have started earlier. But I thought having a good lunch/breakfast was an important idea.

I did not know that the community site was pretty much all old friends. I see the banter back and forth and know that I won't be included.

Awww, don't be such a pessimist. New people are welcomed in all the time!

I thought those reporters were just imprisoned. I hadn't heard anything about them being killed.

For an English major, I know my spelling is less than perfect. But it usually isn't as bad as that. I think that means it should be nap time for me.

I need clear answers.

Why is USA in Afghanistan?

Who is the enemy?

What is considered victory?

Is it worth the effort?

Is this a top priority, even in this economic recession?

North Korea has nuclear weapons and threatens to fire them on a weekly basis, while Afghanistan has no formal government, no nuclear weapons, and only poor goat herders who live in the mountain. Why is USA not fighting North Korea, or why not an African dictatorship in Africa (there are plenty) and finally why even consider fighting any wars 10000 miles away, while an economic recession is destroying the USA from within?

And my opinion:

I support the troops by saying, to bring them all back home.

1. Because that is where Bin Laden went to ground.
2. Bin Laden and cohorts....
3. The capture of Bin Laden.
4. No.
5. It shouldn't be.
6. I think North Korean policy is currently being handled by someone w/ dementia. This paranoid conspericy theory they cooked up at a time when we are dealing w/ economic issues and Iraq, Iran, and Afganistan sounds like it is coming from someone who has completely lost it and become very unstable.

I saw this beautiful meatloaf pan at the store today and was going to buy it. Then saw the price tag. 15$. No way. I'll stick with cheap aluminum ones.

The meatloaf will taste the same.

Some of my stuff looks like it was left over from World War II.

It sounds really good. But that has got to be the longest list of ingredients I've ever seen for meatloaf.

I went shopping. At the fabric store. With a fist full of coupons. And a budget of 25$.

Sigh....

Coupons are both good and bad. There were so many good deals that I left after spending 52$.

My weekend is now filled with Halloween projects.
