Apples and oranges. An example, not all providers are so terrible that it seems devoid of value. It's not necessarily taken so seriously, that one can't have a little fun, with a talented provider, with the knowledge, for example, that (perhaps as a desired outcome) it won't lead to an after effect.

In other words, it's possible just to want a little human interaction, without wanting something as heavy as the potential beginning of a relationship.

IMHO, either can be positive, under the right circumstances. Our conventional society, publicly against providers, tends to find taboo in the provider space. This, in turn, is just a cycle which tends to complicate for everyone.

In Europe, for example, it's much more common, and fully legal in many jurisdictions. It doesn't feel unsafe or awkward, and is just taken as a light form of entertainment, for the most part.

Sometimes, what you're looking for, is a sign of hope, not necessarily the need to be in a relationship.

Many ways of looking at the question, just $.02.
