It would be totally out of character for God not to forgive those who have committed atrocities. That is taken WAY out of CONTEXT. Forgiveness from God is possible, but only from a "repentent" heart. Meaning the person is sincerely sorry for what they did and turned away from it. So there is a chance of forgiveness, but it is NOT automatic. Just as I raised my son, he would never get in trouble for an accident or mistake. but if he was to knowingly do wrong, then there would be a price to pay. And knowng there will be a price to pay does help set boundaries in a persons life. Many people have felt like "killing someone"..and many in the literal sense. But what stops them?? Most of the time it will the the consequence, just like life in prison or they get the death penalty. So consiquence is for a reason.

Would it also not fall under something like the typical Christian beleif of "love the sinner..hate the sin". Again, I agree that "evil" is an act with intent. is a person born "evil"? I personally do not think so. Just as a car can be used to rush someone to the emergency room to save a life, the same car can be used to run 50 people over killing them. So I think strongly that evil is not a 'thing" as posted earlier. It is an action with bad/harmful intent.
Like if you were to create the most vile thing in the world knowing what it would do. Correct, action with bad/harmful intent.

Again, I agree that "evil" is an act with intent. is a person born "evil"? I personally do not think so. OK Two recent threads by CreativeSoul skirt around this, and raise the topic in many ways, but let's ask this specific question straight out. Did God create evil, and if not, who did? I WOULD NEVER CREATE SUCH A THING !!!

If you believe that it scares me. I think Manson is evil for what he did. I also think that a God that knows all things at all times the future the past, if he creats a devil then he is evil. Rabbit, I don't know about you, but I passed my math classes in high school and college. You're making my point. Manson is evil by what he did, not because he was created evil. Pay attention to the thread. Would it maybe be better to say (a sincere question, not a statement) that Manson has an evil nature, since it is his intent with actions that are evil? Because it is his intent and actions to harm others.

Evil cannot be the act alone. If evil is solely the result of an act then natural disasters would be evil, disease would be evil, flesh eating animals would be evil. And, of course, since God created all the things that are naturally prone to conduct these acts then God created evil. There was no reason to design flesh eating animals. A God who designs thing from a master plan could have easily made all animals herbivores and made flesh taste so bad that no animal would even consider eating another animal. But that’s not what God did. Clearly an all-powerful God could have controlled disease as well, and the timing and location of natural disasters. Therefore these acts cannot be considered evil unless God is evil. That is a good point, but I think we just omitted to go into such detail. It is an action or inaction with "intent" as the main factor. you are correct.

well,I think he did........... tell me: would you send your #1 child to be tormented,rejected,and killed brutialy to save everyone in exsistance/non exsistance? plus,would you watch it all and do nothing? would you;if you had the power to stop it;or allow evil things to continue like: lies incest rape kidnapping abuse murder robbery sickness suffering aids cancer people eating people people drugging people torture pain saddness lonliness divorce adultry crime insanity drunks junkies drug dealers prostitutes pimps death I could go on,but I think you get it. Ms Enya, God also gave "free will" and God does not "control" us like puppets. Personally I have to agree with the poster's statement that says "evil is an action". Certain other traits that people may see as "evil" actually come from God, since we are "created in his image". Like jealousy and hate. it states in the Bible, God is a "jealous" God. And God "hates" sin. So many things can be complicated at times. Just my opinion, not saying yours os wrong or bad.

Evil isn't a "thing" - it's an action. Or in some cases, a lack of action. Something is evil not by what it is, but by what it does. The result of which is considered evil. But without action - what is evil? I like that answer!

I always buy people books and candy for Valentines Day . Wrap them in pretty paper and satin ribbons and it makes anyone feel special . Target has really good candy selection . I suggest chocolate covered espresso beans .... mmmm good . Atleast thats what I would like for Valentines Day .

 I've never had a significant other so I have no clue I usually just buy something for my Mom and Sister .. haha . Oh wow! OK, well then just a thing to think about...start now, think of fun, creative and ORIGINAL things to do. makes a world of difference in a relationship. keeps it fresh and exciting!
