What is with people expecting others to make the first move? My philosophy is 'Just do it'. So what if you get burned or shot down, you will never know unless you take that risk? Do you make the first move when a special someone has caught your attention? I usually wait for the man to make the first move. It's not easy to have the confidence to make the first move when you get turned down time after time. I've been in an abusive marriage, and it was very hard to learn how to become myself again. In a way, I guess I'm still learning how to have that confidence. I don't know if I ever will. I feel like I keep repeating the same mistakes with men. I also don't have the confidence to make the first move, or sometimes to show interest. Even the few men I've dated since my divorce, well, they probably weren't healthy relationships either. I meet men, or talk to men that I could have an interest in, but then I shy away, because I think that there's no way they would be interested. It's been hard to change that. |

It was hard getting used to sleeping alone, but I still don't like it,lol. Once I get used to sleeping with someone, the noises/movement/heat/etc., its hard to sleep without it.

Have you ever tried actually talking to your mutual matches on mingle or other dating sites or do you just browse pics and pick out your own? Do you think it really works, the matching up similarities and pairing you up with the opposite sex? No, heck, I Have a hard time getting men to email me period,lol. I guess it could work, it would be up to the people matched, if they are really interested in chatting and seeing what happens. |

Finding the 'right one'

The reason I was curious, was because of a conversation I had with a co-worker. He said he had been single for awhile, and had pretty much given up trying to find someone. He said that none of his relationships lasted that long(for different reasons), and that he knew he was going to end up alone, so why keep looking? It was only hurting him.
It kind of made me think that was sad, and wondered if other people felt that way, and what would happen to make people give up? |

No, I don't compare. I admit I used too though. Mostly I would compare mannerisms. I have never really compared one man's personality to any other men's, but I guess I compared things they did or didn't do.

I think it can quickly go too far. I think showing interest is good, but sometimes people can get scary with it. The only thing it does is make the person uncomfortable and/or angry.
