That's a given. Whenever something is illegal or restrained due to prohibition or taxes, the likelyhood of a black market rises.

I also believe that this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as grossly higher taxes are concerned. Any item that is deemed bad for you will have no opposition to these higher taxes.

I'm about 35 miles north of KY and escaped the ice storm. We had a lot of ice but it didn't stick to and bring down the trees and powerlines.

If the belt is loose and slipping it will smell like burning rubber. If the motor is fried it will smell like burning plastic. You should be able to remove a cover and see the motor. Turn the furnace off and check the belt. If that is good then try to turn the motor. If it doesn't turn then the motor if fried.

There is a limiting switch that starts the fan when the temperature gets to a certain point inside the furnace. It also shuts it down if it gets too hot. Hot air rising from the furnace (in a no fan on mode) could make it feel warm around a floor cold air vent.

I'm sorry to say, but I'm with robert1652 on this one. Over a year ago I decided to live very frugally because I could see where we were headed. I can't be the only one to have seen the way the economy was going.

Screw 'em! Nobody has helped all the small businesses that have gone under so why should we help the big ones.

It depends on the amount of money they are willing to spend to enforce the rules and in this day and age, I think you are safe to do whatever you want. Now if you were a top-five employee it may make a difference, but your severence package would more than cover the time lapse.

There are two answers as to why these miracle cures aren't being used.

1. As was stated earlier, the drug companies only want to treat the symptoms, not eliminate the disease.

2. The government does not want people to live longer as they would have to support them in later years through medicare, medicaid and social security. This is very evident in the illegal drug market. They do not want it to go away. Aids, alcohol, cigarettes, heart disease, etc. More killers that could be eliminated or controlled if the government wanted it.
