Then I read an article on "Wired Magazine" about how easy it is for someone to activate your webcam without your knowledge....

I unplugged my web cam and will never plug it in again....hence...no more Skype for me.

This is funny. A realization occurred to me: Unwritten laws are more binding than the written ones.

Say: Canada or the USA has written laws, in the legal books. So do European countries and Australia.

And all of those have unwritten laws.

My point is that the unwritten laws get broken at a much lower rate than the written ones.

For instance, take thieving. In most societies, thieving is punishable by law. And the statistics are easily taken; the annals of courts keep them.

There are approx. the same ratio of thieves to non-thieves in ALL western-type democratic societies. If there is one theft for 100 people, and one rape for 10,000 people, and one terorrist act for each 1,000,000 people in a population, like in that of England, then the same ratios will exist in America, in Japan, in Australia.

However. In North America the unwritten rule is to follow the rules of the bible. In matters of morality.

In Europe and in Australia there is less of a pressure to follow Biblical moral rules.

And thus, if in North America 1 husband cheats on his wife, out of every 10,000 husbands, then in Europe 2 husbands cheat on their wives, out of every three husbands.

The unwritten law is more binding; it garners more compliance. The laws of the courts are adhered to by people in a lesser compliance rate than the laws of morality, which is established by a concensus which is shaped by, and is constantly in flux in a society; and yet those unwritten laws are surprisingly stagnant and constant over very long periods of time.

I really don't know how to answer that. I am totally up to here with North America and the unwritten puritanic sexual laws of the land on who can do it with whom.

It's a toss-up between four places to go to: England, for the accent, south Africa, for the accent, France, for their love of poetry and philosophy, or Australia, for their accent and absolutely fantastic-looking women.

Now. English women are usually free-thinkers, they don't give that much hoot to what society expects of them, and since this is how most of them are, society stopped expecting anything of them; therefore nothing they do surprises anyone. They are free, and they know it.

French women are stubbly and mustachy, but full of real charm. I don't know how they do it. A French woman appears in the room, and she is charm personified. Even if she is bitter. French women know how to mix charm with being dutiful. They are hard workers, and most of their charm is also shining through their industrious attitude.

South African women have big teeeets and sexy accents.

Australians... oh, my. I have never seen a visually unbecoming woman from Down Under. They are brilliant, too, under the bright sunlight, with their creamy white, pale white, chalk white, or perhaps freckled skins. They are completely out of their element in terms of climate and geography, and that in turn brought out of them the element of freedom, not giving too much hoot about what people on other continents would say about their attitudes and behaviour.

I think I like a woman who is free; she has the freedom of choice, the freedom thought, the freedom of self-expression, the freedom from constantly having to make moral judgements over others. The freedom to think for herself, the freedom to know she doesn't need to dominate men to become equal with those men. Australian women have that certain self-assurance and calm, relaxed readiness, which inner strength only can give to someone.

You see sometimes a heated argument on the street; and a huge, big man, with huge muscles shows up. He emanates calmness, and people calm down in an instant. He is not hurried, he speaks in a quite voice, he is cool. He is cool because he knows he has not got to prove anything to anyone, and least of all to himself.

So this is how Aussie women strike me. They are cool; they are hot; they know their own strength, and they know they don't need to prove anything to anyone.

There are a few sites that have jumped on board the mining boom industry and charge a fee for advice on how to obtain work in the mines...it's everywhere on the internet. I guess one just has to use some common sense and be well informed when looking around.

than there is location, and credit, and past work history and all the other criteria that go into hiring here in america

Unemployment is high here to in the UK, around 8% or nearly 3 million people, sadly, 1 million of those are young people below 24. It is good to hear of job opportunities, so at least people are made aware of them, even if moving to another country is not for them. My daughter and her husband, and with two very young children, made the
move 8 years ago to Perth, WA, and I am very pleased to say they are making a successful new life for themselves, and are very happy living in Australia.

Here is an interesting statistic which I found very surprising, the total population of all Australia is approximately 23 million people. No wonder they need workers.

In the UK we have a total population of approximately 62 million.

I might look into it. I've always dreamed of living in Victoria, Melbourne. It just looks so relaxing. I wouldn't mind the constant noise of crickets first thing in the morning. It just attracts me way much. I know it may not be all sun and fun, because life has up's and down's, but I'm only human. Might aswell take my dream and run with it :)
