I think the intent behind derogatory/offensive topic was that the topic would be offensive to the majority of people. It is not derogatory just because it expresses an opinion different than your own, or because you do not like the name of the poster. This article has a ring of truth to it, like all political articles (you can find a bit of truth in all of them). While I certainly agree with the article (being the former spouse of a Gulf Vet), even if one did not agree, it would not be ok to attack the poster. One should be allowed to post differing points of view (in cut and paste articles or summaries of said articles) and have intelligent conversations about the topic without becoming childish in one's comments. If one cannot think before one posts and reply with constructive responses, maybe one should not post at all...

I would rather spend a few short years with a man that I believed to be a soulmate, than 25 with one that did not quite measure up to that. My bestfriend is 64 this year...and I cannot keep up with her...she runs circles around me. I also could still fall in love with a 37 yr old that is confined to a wheelchair...it is the man inside the wheelchair anyway, almost everywhere is wheelchair accessible nowadays

nu2...I honestly cannot see it being an issue ever...asumming he was a 69 yr old that saw life in the same way I do. Well, maybe I would have a hard time with being 49 and dating someone 20 yrs younger....but I would never rule it our arbitrarily.

I have dated men my same age and men with an age gap of 20 yrs. It depends on the person, not how old they are. I think it requires a lot of wisdom to see beyond the emphasis society places on age. Age is a number.

I think that the pic on the profile is a reflection of the person, unique and individual. And most here, have constantly evolving pics to represent the state of mind they are in at any given time...

It seems to me that if you really want to give this relationship a shot..you need to tell him to slow down. If you keep silent, you will continue to withdraw from him. If he really likes you, he will understand and back off. If he gets mad...well...you haven't lost anything, because in your silence the relationship would end anyway...

Well, Cincy, maybe they are not parent material. Better to know right up front, than 6 months down the road. Have patience and the one you are looking for will come along. I, personally, see it as a plus if a man has custody of his kids...it shows he knows how to be responsible and is not afraid of commitment....
