Hope it was all legal and didn't test you too much.

Hello Beachfarmer...waving

There will not be a test. Just personal curiousity. Its always good to know what’s what. We all have jobs and are all on social media.

Dunno. I show them around the place, give clear instructions and am very patient. Everybody says that. But some are just lacking basic skills or are too lazy sad

I work with a lot of young adults and teenagers. Some are from other countries and some from here. Some work very hard...mostly those from other countries. Although a few from certain countries if female don't even know how to use a broom... their culture doesn't make women work, they get more pampered.

There are a few that only want to play and came here for a vacation. They have no passion for doing a good job and no clue about providing a service to others. To them it's just a paycheck, so the garbage on the floor doesn't matter to them. They don't see that it's a reflection on the establishment or on them!

With others, I see very good work ethics and hard work. Ultimately I believe it's the job of the Management to teach them properly and if they aren't listening and don't care... fire them, it's a good lesson for them.

If they are trying and need extra help, find what works for them as far as teaching them. For me, I learn best by doing it myself. Someone can show me and explain it, but until I actually do it, it doesn't sink in. So part of the Supervisors job is to discover in what way the employee learns best so they can succeed.

When I train someone, I ask them how they learn best... some are visual learners, some auditory learners, and others are hands on learners. Works pretty well in teaching them.

This is why you had so many employment offers. happy You’re a good manager. I love your attitude about training. flowerforyou

Before I have a trainee strike out on their own, I have them teach their task to me. If they can explain it to me properly, I know they are ready. You can’t teach what you don’t know. It’s also much more personal to most than traditional testing. It makes some nervous, but you can usually defuse that with a few jokes and reassurances.
