And this goes with the Middle East culture and mentality.

The middle East does not think like us. We have not been in Constant Tribal warfare over thousands of years! None of us main-landers know what life during war is like. Can any of you picture what it must have been like to have been caught in the Hamburg Firebombing of WWII where day and night raids for three days left the entire city of Hamburg Germany COMPLETELY burned to the ground? Could any of you out there imagine the terror and desperation of those trying to flee the city as it happened? How about when we did the same thing to Tokyo Japan during WWII when a week of 24/7 hourly B-29 bombing raids with incendiary bombs wiped Tokyo off of the map? Yeah Hiroshima and Nagasaki got nuked but blanket firebombing is a slow horrible way to inflict terror. Imagine being that poor French bastard or Czechoslovakian unfortunate enough to be caught between the allies as tanks had it out in your city? You could be blocks away from the fighting and suddenly a 75mm Cannon Shell just landed in your living room killing off your entire family. Imagine being the person living next door to that. Seeing your friends and neighbors die like that. Imagine not knowing if you would be next or worst be fleeing the city as planes were dropping flaming death from over head.

In their world revenge is everything! Tribal warfare is nothing like warfare as we understand it. On top of that the battle we face is not like WWII where you could clearly draw a line and know the people on the other side of the line is your enemy. These days the enemy does not honor borders. The enemy does not honor rules of engagement or the Geneva Convention. They play on the minds of the poor and desperate looking for guidance and the USA Has done a terrible job countering it becasue the aid they offer is not tailored to properly help with the people or honor their mindset.

I could care less if the man I am facing is four feet tall or nine feet tall. A warrior is a warrior and in their culture they are all warriors. Many children are armed to protect the family and in some cases many have killed someone before they are 14 years old. The people of Afghanistan are TOUGH as nails and WE look down on them like they are poor uneducated and down trodden. These things do not matter to a warrior. A warrior will fight to see another day knowing the day they stop fighting is the day they die. We are too hung up on our values as a "Civilized people" to see they have their own rules to operate by and a wholly different set of standards. Instead of culturing them we try to impose on them our values. We want instant gratification where there will be none. That is what is so terrifying about the Chinese. They will set a plan in motion that may take a hundred years but they plan ahead and are patient! America expects everything NOW NOW NOW!

There are two problems with the Middle East. One is their leadership and a lot of the population is duplicitous! The next is that until the cycle of tribal warfare can be broken they will just keep fighting! Pretty words on pieces of paper do not maintain peace there. They break agreements with clockwork regularity.

Then there is the next part of the problem. Pakistan. Those MFs have been playing both sides of the fence on us this whole time. "Enemy of our enemy," so to speak... They have allowed the Taliban to operate in their country and so has Iran.

Worst is Obama has no clue how to get us out of the mess we are in and has no clue how to deal with it. Our commander and chief is a loud mouthed squa pretending to be a man. (I hope any Native Americans (COUGH COUGH, I was born here too) appreciate the humor of this statement). Obama has no clue how to really make a fight end fast without using nukes. God if I was sitting in his seat right now I would do a lot of things differently and let my commanders order the men to dip their bullets in pig's blood ceremoniously before going out on the field to inflict love on those bastards! I would have never offered TARP or any of that crap either but that is stuff for another thread.

The whole situation is a effing mess and we are doing everything wrong to end it. We (our government) are propagating it to insure job security for our "elected leaders" and many others. Why do we have TSA and Homeland (IN)Security? It was job creation in the name of fear.

I am so blown away that people cannot conceptualize the difference between the losses of the war on terror vs. the losses of a real war like WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

Some of the posts I see just make me want to go ! So many people think they are so illuminated when they really know nothing about what they are talking about!

What is even sicker is that the Military industrial Complex needs us to be in some conflagration all the time to keep them in money.

This whole thing is a huge SUCKER PLAY and we ARE the suckers. There is more to this who war than we are seeing and why? IT IS PROFITABLE TO SOMEONE!!!!
