Ok since you asked here is my opinion

First get yourself a better picture. One that you are dressed casual but nice. Its a first impression and if you are going to put a picture out there make it one that shows you at your best.

Second rewrite your profile and take out the part that you are asking for someone to rescue you. No one wants someone who is needy. You have to put your strong positive qualities out there if that is what you want to attract.

Most of all BE the person you hope to attract.
And yes - find hobbies that you like and you will find mutual interest in those around you.
