It's a wonderful fantasy, but for the vast majority it's not possible. I've watched people try for twenty years, I was an Army wife, seen it in college and in online dating in all that time I know two couples that made it. I won't even bother with it.

For me it matters My life is streamlined. My kid is getting ready to leave home, I've downsized my house, career is right where I want it. Too much younger they are just starting out, have younger kids and what not. Too much older and the physical aspects come into play.

I became a widow 9 years ago, it's difficult , I know how you feel. I thought I was ready a few years back but like you I didn't know what I wanted. I've been on dates but only dated one guy in those 9 years. Take your time and people have to realize it's different losing a spouse to death and losing them in a divorce. You'll get there, figure out what you want and when you do you'll find what you need.
