I imagine it's because modern people want everything in a hurry. We want our food fast, our banking without talking to anyone, we all drive as fast as we think we won't get pulled for (not the limit), and 24 hour groceries . We've just become a have it "now" society.

So, our patience has worn thin in the area of dating too. Does anyone have 2-3 year courtships anymore? I'm not saying it's bad, I'm not saying it's good, it just has become how the fabric of our society is. Besides, no one stays married for 60+ years anymore. If we find we make a mistake, we get a quicky divorce and are right back out looking for the next one. Quick ins, quick outs, it's just part of our nature now.
