There are indeed good reasons for not showing pictures to public but deliver it personally to chatmates who meet criteria. So I never rule out people by their profile (pictures) but from the way they communicate.

My first "date" with my girlfriend was having holiday together for 4 days. Actually that was the time we met each other in person since we live in different counties. Did activities together and had a lot of talks. Shared room, separated beds, and no sex. It was great, fun, and she loved it very much. Leading to a serious relationship and planning our marriage next year. So, not sure about why should we limit our way of having first date.

One of the reason of not finding love mate quickly on these sites is trust deficit, I think if we are quite open to describe and reveal ourselves may be it works. I guess trying to find it quickly may also be one of the problem
