Best and Worst of Over 50
|
|
Dating in your 50's can be great, if you want it to be. I have enjoyed mine. Usually though, it's the younger guys that always try to date, I have them from their 20's to in their 40's. The ones in their 40's though are a lot of fun and they become friends, that I can do things with without getting serious. I find it harder to find men my age to date, those I know, want the young sexy women with the sleek young bodies. They don't think they are old. But I am proud of my age and I still enjoy life, but at a slower pace and I take time to stop and smell the roses. |

Is Anyone Serious Out There
|

I am serious. Local dating around here is kind of nil. The guys my age all want the cute younger girls & the others always are either afraid to send a message, or they are waiting for that special person to fall in their lap. They started one of those fast dating things close by, and my son said I should try that. They have them for us older folks and then they have others for the younger ones. I might have to mosey across the river for that. |

I thought it was funny. A lot of people worry what someone else thinks about them when they make a comment. You know how it is, follow the crowd. |

Another one of my favorites
Tanya Tucker's Strong Enough to Bend There's a tree out in the backyard That never has been broken by the wind And the reason its still standing It was strong enough to bend For years, we have stayed together As lovers and as friends What we have will last forever If we're strong enough to bend When you say something that you can't take back Big wind blows and you hear a little crack When you say "Hey well I might be wrong" You can sway with the wind till the storm is gone Sway with the wind till the storm is gone Like a tree out in the backyard That never has been broken by the wind Our love will last forever If we're strong enough to bend When you start thinkin' that you know it all Big wind blows and a branch will fall When you say "Hey this job takes two" We can sway with the wind till the skies turn blue Sway with the wind till the skies turn blue Like a tree out in the backyard That never has been broken by the wind Our love will last forever if we're strong enough to bend Our love will last forever if we're strong enough to bend. |

Frank Sinatra - Send In The Clowns Lyrics
(S.Sondheim) [Recorded June 22, 1973, Hollywood] [Spoken intro] This is a song about a couple of adult people who have spent, oh, quite a long time together, till one day one of 'em gets restless and decides to leave. Whether it's the man or woman who left is unimportant. It's a breakup. It's a lovely marriage of words and music, written by Stephen Sondheim. Isn't it rich? Are we a pair? Me here at last on the ground and you in mid-air Send in the clowns Isn't it bliss? Don't you approve? One who keeps tearing around and one who can't move But where are the clowns? Send in the clowns Just when I stopped opening doors Finally finding the one that I wanted was yours Making my entrance again with my usual flair Sure of my lines Nobody's there Don't you love a farce? My fault, I fear I thought that you'd want what I want, sorry my dear But where are the clowns? Send in the clowns Don't bother they're here Isn't it rich? Isn't it queer? Losing my timing this late in my career But where are the clowns? Send in the clowns Well, maybe next year |

Sometimes I think I am in a tower of Babel here on earth. Babel means a bedlam of sounds. So were they different languages or a bunch of prattle that a person couldn't make out what anyone was saying in relation to the tower of Babel? |

I studied religion growing up and some theology in later years. The one question that comes to my mind constantly is, "Couldn't God have created A Garden of Eden for every nationality or race and made an Adam & Eve for each one?" |

Know what you mean Marie. Mine moved to CA, my daughter didn't say anything to me, & I never got to tell the grandkids bye. I raised them, until they left. |

Everyone has an opinion and it's a free country. But no one has the right to terminate another's invite to say hi or I need someone to talk to. If the shoe was on the other foot, how would they feel. I haven't been on this site that long and I don't have the time, due to work, to be on as much as some other people do. There are clicks of people here and some can be slightly rude to others inserting their comments into one of their threads. I smile or say hi to all people I walk by. If someone comes up to me and states they need someone to talk to, I will listen. I was taught that from the earliest I can remember. This is a very good sight. I have learned a lot about a lot of the people on here, just by reading their comments. If anyone needs someone to talk to, I'm here. If you need a smile, , I can send you one. If you need someone to listen to you, I am here. Send me an e-mail and I will be there if you need a friend. There is nothing so offensive as the small-mindedness of people. To all you newcomers, welcome and to the old ones, Hi

Lonely, you took off at the wrong time. The ladies are getting tired and leaving. You may as well take you a bubble bath and enjoy it with a few drinks. |
