I am going through a similar thing. I know advice can be tough to digest...:( But it is advice none-the-less. Maybe remain friends and contact less ... what we all think is subjective, no one knows for sure as the party hasn't said .. if friendship is what is offered, then take that if you feel so inclined. well your time may be important to you, but even if you don't meet the person you ideally want to meet, surely those you interact with would still be worthwhile .. you may even make a friend or two. :)
