President Obama won a Noble Peace Prize for doing nothing to bring about peace. Shouldn't President Kennedy have won one for his handling of The Cuban Missle Crisis? Shouldn't President Bush have won one for keeping The Country safe after 9/11? Please note this is not a partisan question. I mentioned a Democratic president and a Repubublican president. be seeing you

I think that neither of them deserve it. JFK, was looking out for the U.S And Bush was protecting us from terrorist.

Those were for self interest as I see it. Maybe, I'm wrong for looking at it that way but I feel that it should be someone with a world interest
Like Ronald Reagan shoot it took Princess Diana 17yrs before she won it. And obama got it in 9 months??? Something is wrong.

but email me...I'll be happy to tell you

Sure now you worry about the OP. This has gone on for 2 or 3 pages already

Obama could cure cancer and right wingers will find a way to complain.
in an earlier post i saw a comment that he wasn't qualified to be president....umm Palin isn't qualified to run a PTA much less the Presidency but that's not the point....noone has experience to be president. retard bush had none but conservatives seem to think he's Jesus reincarnated.

Funny, I have to ask you though...why is it that when obama gets attacked for his obvious lack of experience, people immediately bring up Palin's experience? I mean was she running for President or the V.P slot.
Just wanted to ask how can you compare the 2...

The Department of Homeland Security has revoked the special immigration enforcement contract it had under Federal Law 287g with Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County in Arizona.

An October 6 press release from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported that “the decision to curtail the Sheriff’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent status emanates from as high as the White House,” which is no surprise given President Obama’s support of amnesty for illegal immigrants.
The move by Homeland Security ostensibly stems from complaints that sheriff’s deputies have engaged in racial profiling. But a 2008 audit of the law-enforcement operations supposedly fraught with racial bias found no violations.

So IF you do your job correctly they take your power away for the rights of illegal immigrates????

Gibbs says the president has yet to decide which charities will benefit from the award, announced early Friday morning.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/sns-ap-us-obama-nobel-money,0,5110868.story

hopefully it will be used here

I still don't think he earned the award

He is using it as a distraction from today's event. He'll probably announce it durning a Glenn Beck broadcast as usually...lol

He would probably donate it to ACORN!!!!

Fran...I saw it at the top with the title of the article. which charity got the money is what I was wondering about

I have not head which ones will get donations

where does the prize money come from???? come on Fran...do the research for me. I'm not in a researching mood laugh

and when you find the people giving the money...ask them to adopt me laugh

He's probably only donating the money bc he doesn't want to be associated with the Nobel Prize bc of the bad press. Also, he is donating the money to France or something. Anywhere but the U.S of course ;)

Obama plans to donate the $1.4 million cash award that comes with the Nobel Peace Prize to charity.

Thats mighty big of him considering that he isn't one of those elite rich guys...

top 5 arguments given in here, that I see a lot, are:

1. that's not true/not accurate (but nothing backing it up)
2. racism (the only reason people could possibly have for not agreeing with the president is racism whoa )
3. Obama says....(sorry but I don't always agree with what he says....just like past presidents)
4. hate or fear mongering (happens on both sides)
5. biased source (but those that complain about that use biased sources themselves and that seems to be ok)

It is really tiring to see every single thread sinking into the "who is a liberal, who isnt" and friend or foe...Not only tiring but sickening and ruining every single topic here. rant Same goes for the ones who are calling the right as "nutjobs" and similar.

Thats the whole point of politics...
friend and foe...repubs against dems...issues and policy are usually based on those things.

You did insult her and the whole damn thing is WRONG so there can be no debate. School, I recommend school. History of American would be a good start and then current events would be good after that.

I cannot debate ignorancy.

Thanks Dragoness. I actually find the insults rather amusing. It proves a point that when someone doesn't have anything intelligent to say and cannot back up what they are saying, they resort to bullying, name-calling and in some cases (in the real world), physical violence. It stems from ignorance, fear, and insecurity. We should feel sorry for this person, to be so continually wrapped up in all that hate and negativity.

What the hell are you talking about??? I have given you examples/facts and you are yet to counter anything that has been said. I see that you must love hearing yourself talk. And please do not compare what I said to physical violence. Your just showing the extremes of what a liberal does. You make a mountain out of a molehill. And please, as much as you don't want to hear this I'll pray for you to wake up someday. Bc, being a hypocrite must be tough...then again most Libs are.

Your responses are actually full of liberals are this and liberals are that. And nothing to back up what you're calling facts.

HAHA...
I give up with you.
It's actually hopeless
frustrated

And can't even define a liberal accurately on top of that.

To dantheamirican may I ask why you are blaming Obama for Us being in Afghanistan we were there before he was even President so why blame him I know we all want out of that mess over there but we're there and you have to understand that your friends chose the military life knowing we were at war over there, you can't blame the current president for what was already going on you don't know the details of his meeting there you don't know what happened so you can't say that he's a "BAD" president, you have to give him credit for trying to fix all the problems that Bush created while in the white house, We really have to give Obama credit for trying in a world where no one else is.

Ok, you can blame Bush for getting us into the war BUT, you need to point that finger at obama for having NO control over it. Obama is president now whether if it's a day or 9 months...the blames goes to him sooooo STOP blaming Bush, he is not here anymore. And yes, so far obama is a "Bad" president...he has done nothing as of yet except create a big divide between Republicans and Dems.

He created the divide? No, sorry, you need to go back to History 101. There's been a divide in political parties since our 2nd president. And why shouldn't Bush be blamed for the things he had direct control over and failed miserably at doing? Obama's certainly not perfect but it will take a considerable amount of time to regain the control that Bush (and others) are to blame for losing. I think you meant that Obama is responsible for what is going on now. He is taking and shouldering that responsibility. But blame? That would be like me blaming you for your friends' decision to join the military. Pointless and makes absolutely no sense.

What? I'm sorry I guess for your simple mind I should have said "recent divide"
And to deny that...then you are fooling yourself. Yes, you have to blame the man that ran his campaign on blaming Bush for the last 8yrs. Yes, you have to blame the man that has no control over congress. Yes, you have to blame the man that can't make a decision until he has the polls in his favor. Yes, you have to blame the man that is currently having our troops killed bc he is too afraid to put more troops in. Yes, you have to blame the man that wants to have China one day own us. That's YOUR man...the man that YOU voted for. So, please save that garbage that you are spouting to someone else. You don't nedd History 101 but go back to your DVR and just watch the last 2 yrs of your man's empty promises!

If it weren't for the insults in this post, it would be a complete and utter joke.

Not one thing is accurate.

What a shame.

I don't toss insults...and that's your point for everything.
That's not accurate...blah,blah,blah

He created the divide? No, sorry, you need to go back to History 101. There's been a divide in political parties since our 2nd president.
You cannot deny that the divide is bigger than ever, and it started with Bush in 2004, and has carried over to Obama, who as far as I'm concerned is just another dirty politician... just like Bush and his predecessors.

Oh, I'm not saying the divide isn't huge (needlessly, but that's another topic). I'm simply saying that the divide has existed to varying degrees since John Adams. It cycles, too. This is certainly not the biggest we've had (i.e., the Civil War years). It has been growing incrementally, IMO, since probably Kennedy. I don't think there's been a presidency since him (and since I wasn't alive then, I'm going by hearsay) where people of both parties were more united.

It's a pity that we as a people allow this to happen. I think that probably 10% are extremists at each end of the political spectrum. Then there's the 80% of us in the middle who are just trying to muddle our way through the best way we know how. But we cannot blame the politicians, really. We have to blame ourselves. We still keep voting the professional politicians in. We *****, moan and complain, yet we still do it. We allow them to manipulate us. I think it's high time we took the power back. But, I don't believe that will happen, short of another civil war.

I think you are jumping to very broad conclusions, I never said I voted for him, nor did I ever say he was "my" man. You know what they say about people making assumptions, right?

You might want to consider English 101 along with that history class. flowerforyou

I assumed nothing, it for the way that you commented earlier and the way that you are commenting now...YOU ARE A LIBERAL THAT VOTED FOR HIM. You answer questions by trying to pick and choose where you would like to debate me. And guess what you debated everything except the facts that I laid out for you...hmmm, Liberal, yeah I think so

What kind of people are not proud when their president wins the Nobel Peace Prize?

What does that say about our country?

What a shame.

The kind of people that feel he does not deserve it.

Yep, it is a shame, a shame that it even happened.

Everything is politicized, that's all this is, he didn't earn it.

Can't even keep the hatred down for one little award huh? What a shame.

Bc, he did NOTHING to deserve it. What's so hard to understand?????

So hatred is a good thing?? slaphead noway

It's not hate..it's that he is unless for Americans and more productive everywhere else. That's why he won. He just made America just a bit more weaker...
