Well unfortunately the double standard does exist (and I wish to hell it didn't), I lived through it with the ex wife and recently an ex girlfriend. I can tell you events that you'd say "what the hell" . Though you did give a less than fulfilling example. Sorry dude, that's just common sense. But hey I know when it's with the one you love... We need to be more like ants and live a little more each other than backstab each other and live strickly for our own wants no matter the cost. It's BS, who else sees this

Yes, but it depends on the circumstances:
UNCONDITIONAL- Like for the kids and loved ones
NEVERENDING- With it's that SPECIAL someone
FRUSTRATING- When it's with the wrong one
