Scammers may be operating from countries with strict moral standards - China, maybe Hong Kong, elsewhere. Their messages may be censored haphazardly, without regard to content. Thus, any word with a-s-s in it is ruthlessly truncated to remove the "offending" letters. This is the only halfway logical conclusion I can come to.
