I have seen people who say they like or love someone, but they don't appear to respect them. I have also seen people who say they don't like or love someone but they appear to respect them. 1.What's the difference between liking a person versus respecting a person? 2. What are some things that make you lose respect for a person? Hi peggy122, Liking someone, to me, is an emotional thing while respect doesn't need to be. One could like someone for no particular reason, even without having seen them face to face or spoken to them. Just as we have on M2. The person may have an air around them which makes them easily likeable without having to do much. My nature, as is that of most humans, is to respect everyone and everything at first. Respect, however has to be earned in any kind of relationship. Without necessarily liking a person after meeting or talking to them I may respect them, their views, opinions or ideologies. Like u said, LIE is number 1. I could lose respect for a person who bullies others or talks down on people so as to elevate themselves. I could also lose respect for a person who runs away from responsibility. I would definitely lose respect for someone who believes that women are meant to be seen not heard as well as someone who thinks that as a woman I must be a beautiful slave. On a lighter noté, I also have lost respect for those who mail me, after 'checking out my profile', asking for the exact same thing I said not to! C'mon!
