That's why so many "TALKS" turn into 'fights'. Many men think the woman is attacking them and they become defensive instead of just truly listening and then sharing their thoughts and views in return. Don't they know that everything doesn't have to be a combat!! That's why I say 'many' and 'most' I would NEVER say ALL!!! I've come across quite a few men who can open and share but usually they were just friends. When in a relationship I think men are less open. I believe they feel more vulnerable and scared to let down the wall. |

I don't think either sex has any real intentions of being confrontational. It's just perceived that way by party not getting what they wanted from the other party. Exactly Fran! There is NO intent but the communication goes awry when two different approaches collide. |

You know what I'd like to see more of? Men being upfront and honest about things. Now, I'm not saying all men are like this, but from what I've seen and what other women have told me, many men avoid confrontation like the plague. It isn't that difficult to just be upfront about what you're thinking. If something isn't working out, let us know. It can't be that hard. Excuse the interruption, sorry to go back on topic here, BUT ..... I'm upfront and honest, to a fault sometimes, and I've found that most men find it to be disconcerting and even disagreeable to their nature. Many men are 'spinners' and like to keep everything in their lives on an even keel. When soemthing they don't like occurs they either sweep it under the rug and 'spin' the situation around to their liking or they consciously choose to be CLUELESS. When given a chance to discuss politics, religion, sports, most men will gladly spew their opinions like wildfire. BUT when asked to communicate feelings, desires, and the more personal aspects about themselves they RUN FOR THE HILLS and shut themselves up in a cave! For many men IT IS difficult to internalize; it's so much easier and preferable for them to externalize and leave the personal 'field' intact. Hence, the lack of communication between partners. Women look at it as enhancing and clarifying. Men perceive it to be confrontational because of their combative nature. IF they only knew it wasn't!!! NOW BACK TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED "MORNING" PROGRAM!!!! teeheeheeheeheeeee |

Some of us really are geeks and listened to TV programs on the radio! Now those are gone,
My brother and sis-in-law used to do that in IN. Seems to be a lost breed of people who like to use their imagination. Books on tape are very close to it. Nothing like some good fertilizer to help seeds grow, huh T?!? Where's that manure!?! hehehehehe Watch those monkeys! POOP! |
