Topic: What's a GAL to do?!? | |

Just wanted to say "HI!"
I've been single for 4 years now, divorced for 2 of them. Being a single mom doesn't afford me much free time so finding a new life partner has been rough going. I won't give up the search but with school on my agenda for the upcoming year I'll have to put it on the backburner for now. Wonder who else is in my situation and knows where I'm comin' from?! Ciao for now! Lina |

That's reality. Finding someone just happens, and your life will mold around that person to include them. Just take life as it comes. Life comes at ya pretty fast, and if you're not paying attention, it'll pass ya by. (Ferris)

Welcome to the forums. I've been in plenty of situations where dating was not feasible or a good idea.
Good luck to you. |

I'm in same situation as you as well...I'm a single parent, working full-time, juggling that and parenthood isn't easy, and kids being out of school doesn't help free up my time either. I'm fortunate enough to have sisters and a mother that offer babysitting once in awhile for me to go out with friends and socialize.
As for the single part, after acouple weird dates, I'm being very picky on who i want to spend time with |

As for the single part, after acouple weird dates, I'm being very picky on who i want to spend time with Exactly Jmsal! It's OK to be picky and not settle for less than what you truly want and deserve. I won't let my girl meet anyone I've dated until I feel that they might stay around for awhile. As for having help with supervision, mine is very limited since I don't live near any family. YES! You are fortunate to have the assistance of family members, good for you. I only get 2 free nights a month, when my 'ex' takes her for his overnights. That DOES NOT afford me the pleasure of really getting to know someone and usually most men are not patient enough to stick around. |

Welcome and good luck. It took me awhile to get to a point where I can actually "attempt" a relationship again.
Just trust it will happen again. |

Well I do know where you are coming from, I have been a single mom for the past 8 years. I work full time, go to school full time and have my daughter full time. There has been very little time for me in the past 8 yrs but after a couple of months on mingle and talking to several people, I have meet someone who I think would be the perfect person for me and my daughter. Wasn't sure about that until after talking to him for several weeks. But he has made a huge impression on me, so much so that I am going to go up to visit him next month.
I wish you the best of luck here on mingle and I am sure he is out there somewhere, looking for you too!!! |
