TxsGal, Very sad but it happens to most of us in some way. I know it has
happened to me. Time heals all, at least that's what they say. Thanks for sharing, be strong, head up, chest out, eyes straight ahead and focused on the future! Have a blessed day! Westernbiker |

LAST RIDE? (Motorcycle poem)

My name is Chuck and my writer's name is Carlos. Spanish for Chuck. I
have been on some poetry sites in the past and learned some things. I like to keep it simple and easy to understand but I like to touch you also. Some of my poems will touch in a way you don't like but that's life. Here is one I hope you enjoy. Comments are greatly appreciated and I would like to hear what you have to say after reading. Thanks all! Chuck A.K.A. Carlos Username: Westernbiker LAST RIDE? I swing a leg over, my trusty steel horse. I plant my butt in the saddle and point her head north. A month on the road and no schedule for me. I'm riding where I want and i'm seeing what I want to see. A curvy road through the pine trees, only two lanes wide. Leaning the bike back an forth, the feelings hard to describe. A twist of the throttle and over the next hill. I'm laughing out loud, like a child i'm thrilled. Down through the valley, with turns left and right, still laughing out loud, I must be a sight. Braking hard for the next corner, i'm going way too fast, lean hard through the apex, then give it the gas. Out of the corner, still laughing out loud, if you could have seen that one, you would have been proud. Sparks fly from the footpeg, as it drags through the next turn. Still laughing out loud, i'm not really concerned. Just passd a sign, scenic overlook quarter mile. Think i'll make that stop and rest for awhile. I stand at the edge and I just have to laugh. I think to myself, why the hell are you riding so fast? The answer comes, as I mount up again. The soft sweet voice, of my soulmate and best friend. I'M HERE! i'm here by your side. I may be in heaven, but i'm with you when you ride. Don't be in a hurry to join me, says this soft voice in my ear. You must live your life and love again, you know i'll always be near. I look up at the sky and yell, I LOVE YOU! As I put the bike in gear. I ride away slowly, thinking, God I wish you were here. by Carlos Copywrite 2006 Author's Comments: "BIKERS ARE OF A DIFFERENT BREED, BUT WE HAVE A SOFT SIDE TOO!" |

Hi all,
This is a true story told to me by my sister, it acyually happened to her and her husband. I am a part tiume poet and dabble here and there with mostly true stories. My user name on this site is Westernbiker, my real name is Chuck and my writer's name is Carlos, which nwould be Spanish for Chuck. The Chuck it this story is not me. I can only write whe inspired, could be an experience I had or heard about, it could even be someone I met but all are true. This is about a motorcyle ride and how the events unfolded. Hope you enjoy this one! WE LIVE AND WE DIE TO CHUCK AND BECKY We're born and we're loved, we live and we die. We take life for granted and we never ask why. A bike ride from the desert, to the pines at seven thousand feet. All the places we stopped, all the people we meet. We met a couple in a restaurant, we had pulled in out of the rain. We came up from the desert, they had done the same. We ate lots of food and we laughed and we joked. We must have been a sight, the four of us were soaked. Time passed quickly, the rain had finally stopped. It was time to get going, up from the table we got. We exchanged phone numbers, as we walked out the door. We talked by our bikes and we laughed a bit more. Follow us we said, for as far as you can. We'll wave bye at the intersection, till we can meet again. They were behind us, but then we lost sight. Their headlight disappeared, in the black of the night. We pulled over and waited, but they never arrived. Police cars blew by us, in the blink of an eye. Chills ran through us, as we rode back up the hill. A body lay covered, someone was killed. One of our friends, that we just met that day, got a call from above, now he's on his way. We take life for granted and we never ask why. We're born and we're loved, we live and we die. by Carlos Copyright 2005 Author's Comments: "THIS IS A TRUE STORY 7/16/05 TOLD BY MY SISTER EILEEN. SHE AND HER HUSBAND TIM WERE ON A MOTORCYCLE RIDE WHEN THE EVENTS THAT I HAVE JUST DESCRIBED HAPPEN TO THEM. THIS STORY THAT WAS TOLD TO ME, BROUGHT OUT THIS POEM. P.S. GOD BLESS YOU CHUCK, YOU WILL BE MISSED!" |

Hello All,
This is a first for me, never tried a site to meet people before. But after almost seven years after my divorce I now DO WANT to meet another woman! I live here in Phoenix Arizona and I would like to meet someone in my area. I really don't know how this works but I guess no else did when they first started so I guess I will figure it out as I go. My passion is motorcycles, dirt and street. I would truely love to find a woman that likes to ride, at least on the street you don't have to like the dirt bike thing but the street bike is a must. It is a passion of mine that I want to share with that special person. Have a blessed day all! Chuck |
