Fair enough - but how do you react if you're on the receiving end? And I'm not talking about honest, poignant questions. I'm talking about the careless "honest and direct" caustic or biting comments.

Same goes for a few of the ladies I've had email convos with.

"I'M HONEST AND DIRECT" usually means you're dealing with a paranoid who questions every thing you say and reads negative intent into every word that comes out of your mouth. Usually also means that she's free to be honest *about* you - you are not free to be honest *about* her.

In short, "I can dish it out - but I can't take it". This equates to someone who believes his or her own hype (self-image) instead of how others perceive them. "People think I'm great"!
