Difference between ice breaker and pick up line? Is one just meant to begin conversation while other is with intention of picking her up?

Why would you feel the need to apologize for trying to engage a woman who strikes your fancy in conversation?

And more so, why would you apologize to a woman who rebuffed your attempt to speak to her?

It isn't a matter of "falling for it", women have advanced BS meters that are powered by fuel cells. And they don't speak to a man that approaches them out of sympathy.

While I have fun with any topic, the reality is that I view a "pick up line" as a conversation starter with a stranger when you have no knowledge of their character, personality, or marital/relationship status.

It is intended to amuse her and view you as non-threatening before you introduce the duct tape and escort her to your nondescript cargo van!

Even something as benign as "How bout this weather we're having" is a pick up line.

Heck, some fellers play all Mr. Sensitive and wishy washy to gain attention. But hey, use whatever skills or tools one has at their disposal, right?

The point you're missing is that Isaiah provided a description of earth as seen from above, at a time in history when no humans had the ability to take space flights.

Yeah I am sorry you had that experience. Every where I go, we like foreigners. Many are business owners here.

There are countries in Europe that don't like Americans and aren't friendly. It's all just heresay and could just be friends experiencen but I heard France isn't very friendly

We all have our people with attitudes. I agree though, to make your own country better but of you decide to move, do it legally

I have no problem helping our citizens. I have a problem with people coming here illegally. We don't have a way to document them to know if they are criminals or how to find them. They take many jobs from people here legally because they tend to work for less money (yes that is the bosses fault to). There is no way to collect on debts owed (medical care etc) and can't even garnish wages so the tax payers foot the bill. We pay government taxes (state taxes depending on the state and what they collect) and illegals don't.

My girlfriend is Mexican, her family didn't flee from their country, and they love it here. Not all are here because they had no other choice, even the decent ones.

Well we are more than willing to help them get home :-)....Instead, they do everything in their power to stay while working for cash to send back home to their friends and families so that they can buy needed supplies...(a good pair of shoes and a canteen)... to make the trip across the boarder too...I think your facts are somewhat skewed, but It was nice talking with you!

I understand that. I don't think I would "feel at home" in another country. Where did you live? I am from Texas. We are a pretty friendly people (until we are disrespected lol)

I think a lot has changed because (among many things) people here illegally are a big problem.

I love learning about where people are from. We are a melting pot.

Hi Fred :-)...That's all well and good, but what you forget to mention is that the U.S., like many other countries, is paradise to many less fortunate...If you're going to tell the story, tell the WHOLE story!...

Fred...I am not sure where you were in the states but most (if not all) people I know are welcoming of others, as long ad they are here legally. Sorry you had a bad experience. I am sure every country had those that aren't welcoming of foreigners.

I think the world has painted this myth (that people still believe) that it's a paradise and the streets are paved with gold. It's a great country but not perfect. We have some beautiful places and some ugly places
