I've recently became involved with the American Chestnut Foundation who's mission is to restore this once dominant tree to the eastern forests of the US. It's a great cause and if anyone is interested in learning more, I'll be happy to share more info. I have three pure American chestnut trees growing in my yard, and aside from the blight fungus, these are the most hardy trees I've ever grown.
