"Every stranger is a friend waiting to be met." It is not impossible to find friends in any country. Yes you have to look for people with whom you can have chats on topics of your interest. I have made friends in almost every country I have been to. Even in Kuwait, where most of the time I am extremely busy, it is possible for me to make friends. Been here only about 7 months, but met a lot of interesting people. One suggestion is that there are some social organisations. Start attending one which you like. Also start finding people who have the same interests as you.
