I don't know if any body else on here has one, I do remember when asking about it before and some one said they had one, any how I got the 30 days free try out and reasonly hooked up my magic jack but the problem I am having is...
the voice isn't as clear, noise like poping sound, doesn't seem to work to well with some phone number like when I call the bank etc. If you have this new phone system / service have you had any problems ????, if so how did you fix them ????. |

That was me, and other than sometimes a slight delay of 1 to 1-1/2 seconds (depends on where I'm calling to), I've had no problems & the sound quality is crystal clear. I have a high-end 5.8GHz cordless phone attached to it. What are you using for a handset? Have you contacted tech support at magicJack? |

I have a 5.8GHz too, I have talked to magicjack support and they told me something about them upgrading there service and that could be why I am having problems. They also said something about me having another VOIP could be the problem as well. But I told them the phone line isn't plugged into the other one so I don't know how it could cause a problem with it. Then they tried to say something about the speaker on my phone could causing problem because it's cordless, but I don't think that could be the problem. Not sure what the problem is. I mean I don't know if I should try and cancel my other voip service just to see if that is the cause of the problem or what. |

I suppose a VOIP driver conflict is possible...Is there a service that you can stop, within Windows, for the other VOIP, to see if it makes a difference?

I suppose a VOIP driver conflict is possible...Is there a service that you can stop, within Windows, for the other VOIP, to see if it makes a difference? I am not sure about that, I mean the other VOIP is still running because I am unsure about shutting it off until I find out if this MagicJack works as good as there website claims it does and all. I don't even know where the other driver could be to be honest, because it's a phone / internet modem I have through Comcast. Unless I repower the modem from comcast to see if that helps it out any. But I keep getting this error when trying to run a upgrade from Magicjack.. " Unable to access MagicJack please reinsert the MagicJack and contact the support if the problem continues. " That is one message I keep getting when I've tried the Magic Fix. Not sure how to fix it. Or what else to do either. Not that I need two phone services because I don't, I'm just trying to find out which one works best etc, so I know rather or not to keep the magicjack or not. |

Do you have another PC that you can try it on? I use mine at work too, with no problems.

Do you have another PC that you can try it on? I use mine at work too, with no problems. No.. I do not have another pc. I've tried moving the magicjack to the back and front of the pc since I have USB ports on both back and front of my pc. They at magicjack told me to put it in back, because there is more power there.. I don't know about that though. |

I'd say the existing service doesn't like it. Also, check to make sure that you have QOS installed under your network adapter settings. |

Also why won't it take the updates for firmware or whatever when they told me to download something and I did it wouldn't take it. In fact I keep getting this error message.. you wouldn't happen to know what I should do about this one ? " unable to access magicjack please reinsert the magicjack and contact support if the problem continues " I asked them about it and they never give me an answer, any idea what I should do ?????. |

Are you running Vista? Have you run the MagicFix tool from their website?
QOS is located here: Right-click on My Network Places > Properties > Right-click on the connection icon > Properties. There should be an entry that says 'QOS' Packet Scheduler. If not, click 'Add' > Service (MicroSoft) > QOS Packet Scheduler. |

I have windows XP, I have tried to run magicfix tool but keep getting an error or errors off there website. I have qos. I don't know if I uninstall and reinstall the magicjack software if that would work or what. Just kinda crazy at least to me that I am having problems with this when I shouldn't be. |
