This is not for or against abortion, but this thought occured to me a few minutes ago. So what does everyone think about my line of reasoning?
It is my understanding that pro-choice argument is that since babies are not yet born its ok to get an abortion. Now with that out of the way, I don't know about everywhere, but in some places when a pregnante woman is killed it is counted as a double murder. If it is decided that fetus' aren't living that means that the murder of a pregnant woman would be counted only as a single murder. |

I am not asking whether abortions are good or bad, I am asking if my line of reasoning is sound or not.

It depends on how far along in her pregnancy she is.

Depends on the reasoning...
If it is goin to endagers the life of the Mother & child Or a rape....there'll always be an argument...i think it should be up to the woman not the state, Government or church. |

It falls under ambiguity in the law. No one convicted of such a "double" homicide of both pregnant woman and her fetus has ever appealed their conviction to the U.S. Supreme Court.
In the meantime, prosecutors will freely use the double homicide chage in order to more guarantee a win and longer sentencing in their case. |

Lindyy says:
OK, I will make a stand. I am totally against abortion of any type. Specifically 'partial birth abortion' an extremely heinous, criminal act. There has yet to be any proof that it is needed to save a mother's life. NO PROOF AT ALL. The body parts are sold. If a woman goes that far in her pregnancy, why not just finish the pregnancy and put the child up for adopotion? I will not go into the gorey details, but if you do a google on this subject you will find that the procedure a woman goes through to prepare her womb for this procedure, THAT ALONE COULD CAUSE A WOMAN'S DEATH, IF INDEED THAT IS WHY SHE IS CLAIMING TO HAVE THE PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION!!! I could really go off on this, so I will end. Lindyy |

Look at the case of Scott Peterson. Lindyy |

i went through a tough time when i was 16 i had abortion, which now i regret it but at that time we were both confused
i wouldnt do it again unless it had to do with life (mine or the child) or if i was a rape victim. |

It is inconsistent logic that says on one hand that a fetus isn't a human life (if the fetus is unwanted) but on the other hand say that the murder of a pregnant woman carrying a "child" is a double homicide. The state of the fetus/child in this case is identical--only the wishes of the mother differ. Despite the heartfelt and difficult issues surrounding this issue, that is poor reasoning and even worse logic.
