Do we learn by looking at the other's mistakes or our own contributions to the matter at hand?

Can we accurately assess one's true character by how they express themselves, and/or how they view the world at hand?

Depends what you mean by express themselves?

Some people have no clue who they really are ... so can we then assess their true character? I have met some who actually believe the lies the tell.

Behaviour ... Maya Angelou said 'when people show you who they are believe them the first time'

Behaviour would seem to me to be a more accurate reflection of what is really going on with a person...

But I think both are important ... a level of self awareness ... honesty ... communication ... and behaviour that solidifies the picture.

Uh... what is a Skinnerist?

People don't change...they just reveal

"One is defined by their behavior" nothing else...

And in that is at least the illusion of change...

It is about letting go of who we are not to reveal that which we have always been...

But many don't see the personality masks as separate constructs...coping mechanisms ... so when the personality masks shift or dissolve ... there is a 'sense' of change ...
