you want to look for high contrast and brightness and if you play games
or intend on watching movies you want a fast refresh rate. Another
thing to look for is can you view a page at 1024 x 768 as most of the
websites are built at that resolution so going higher then that is
your choice but pages may not display correctly. Also are you wanting
one with a tuner built into it or not. You also want to research the
differences between LCD, TFT, Plazma. If your looking for a good all
around I got a Samsung SynchMaster 931B here I am happy with but there
are others out there that are better and many that are worse as well.

I've got a 52" panasonic LCD hi def tv, the pic is awesome. I'd be
careful with plasma screens cause from what I have read their longevity
is not too good. Good luck ram, whatever you choose I'm sure you will
love it.

If you want a tv Monitor make sure it has HDMI connections on it no
matter what. Iw ould also look for DVI and 15 pin as well if it was me
but HDMI is needed for High Def on DVD

If your just looking for huge check out the new rear projection DLP
units out there they last far longer then plazma and you can buy
replacement bulbs if you use it that much. DLP is really clear and you
can get it pretty reasonable as well.

thing is with DLP you will probably want to build it into the wall.

I know this started out regarding a monitor, but then went to TV's..
so I have a question.

I have a 52" Sony projector TV, probably about 12 years old now. The
last few months the picture has orange tints and the dark scenes (filmed
like at night) are totally black and you can see nothing other than the
light spots (like whites of the eyes). So I have to run to my other TV
to see what is happening.

So the question, do you think it is fixable, or should I just get a new
one?
Also opinions on the plasma's. If I replace it I also would like a
larger screen (not club house size though, lol)What brand etc..??

I would verify that all of the bulbs are in fact working. Most likely
one is burnt out and needs to be replaced there are probably only 3 or
four bulbs in it but they will cost about 200 dollars each the choice of
repair is up to you.
