He smiles not because he wants anything from her, but because he is glad she didn't attack more then necessary avoiding a big mess he would have had to clean up. The Green Dragon's Inn owner doesn't like to buy new stools and tables for her business and sometimes takes the pay away from those who worked that night in her bar.
