Those of you who said it is okay to swear at someone in an argument.. WHY do you say that. Why is is NOT okay?... if you did not explain.
I'm really looking for the whys... |

I just say this is getting a little bit to much lets walk away and come back when were both cooled down. That works 80percent of the time

swearing sounds real bad in an argument....so it gets the desired effect across....it may not solve anything but it does get across the intensity of feelings

Why wait for an argument? Exactly Peccy. Lilith, F**k you! ![]() |

If you have intense feelings just give a kiss or hug ends the arguement and leads to fun

I try not to say anything I can't easily take back once the heat of the moment passes. To me, cursing AT someone is the ultimate sign of disrespect. If I've reached that point, I usually have nothing to say at all...it's just not worth it.

If you have intense feelings just give a kiss or hug ends the arguement and leads to fun u were not married to my Ex, a kiss or hug was just an invitation for more warfare....belittlement & giving in to her degradations...

Maybe if I state my views here you can all refute them or give your views...
I believe swearing "AT" a person is verbal abuse, and that it is on the lines of any other abuse... and honestly I'd rather be hit. Words you remember and there are things you cannot take back. I have a dirty mouth and swear all the time. But not at a person in an argument. I'm not at all above saying it in a disagreement, I just don't direct it at the person. It gets my frustrations out and makes my point or (ridiculous petty bicker) have the emphasis I want and it keeps me from verbally abusing the other person. |

I don't think it's ok, because you can't pull the words back, once they're out there. Words can draw a person or push away.
