My supervisor OWES me...lol. My shift is supposed to be 6am to 6pm but i got a call at 4 this morning and it was my supervisor asking me to come in cause night shift didn't get anything done. So i get there at 430, me and him start working like crazy trying to get everything figured out before our shift showed up. and at the end of the day there was still stuff to do so i didn't end up walking out til 730. so i worked a grand total of 15 hours and during all this i only got a 20 minute break....i can't believe the crap i do for this job....lol, ok, i vented, i feel better now!

I did that for almost 2 years....took that long to know that the work-life balance is soooo important. As a supervisor I did not even get paid for the extra hours noway

There you go then...

If my job calls me at home to ask a question, I want 15 minutes overtime. Good union.

my work will never see a union.....it actually used to be called "Galaxy Glass" back in the mid 70's, and they were union. so they ended up going on strike, and the owner closed the company, opened Viracon, and offered jobs to any of the people on strike that wanted one. same owners, same business, same machines, different name. and they won't let that happen again so no unions.....

i gotta say, i think in some cases, unions are a good thing...

but there are those exceptions that are little more than tyrannical.

like that 15 minutes of overtime for a phone call...
to me that seems kinda ridiculous.
(don't throw stones bigglenn - i'm just saying...)

That's fine. Just be sure to put down the copious amounts of OT AND the meal penalty you incurred for fixing what the other shift screwed up. After all- why should YOU take it on the chin when someone else decides to slack off.

If you're gonna do the work, you might as well get paid for it, that's what I always say.
