Hi JSH,

Did you know that all people are "Bi-Polar"? Years ago it was called Manic, but that was only until we were able to travel to different countries, and see different cultures and spiritual beliefs. After this we created terms that did more harm than go for the most part. Finally now we are getting to the point where we are able to start putting our finger on it.

The question is "what is it, and why does it happen?"

First you have to remember that your brain is moving far more fast than your body. Your brain also has different areas that we can either open or close. You've heard the expression "close minded", well this is a reality. We can in our on brain create a culture all unto its own. In fact most people (almost all do). For example did you know that most people that are in the medical field become diagnosed as bi-polar?

Your brain is a marvelous tool that can go places much further than we give it credit for. It's a vast open field of discovery. It can also be a prison with 4 walls and limited sight into the other parts of the brain.

When I first saw this part of JSH I thought "no not here", but after reading a little, JSH is offering an outlet working through, if not understanding Bi-polar, and PTSD, and others. Bi-polar people (read any current article) need to ramble. We should not look at this as a forum in this case, but more as an outlet. A place for you, I, or anybody can come and ramble. this is key to letting our minds open up. It doesn't matter what you are saying, what matters is you are saying it.

Your brain changes thought patterns over 300 times a second yet has the ability to stay focused on one thought for many years.

One thing that I would recommend is that if anyone tries to act like doctor, up here, try not to get upset with them because they are only trying to figure out themselves as well.

peace, and God bless all of you (us) with our complicated minds

love to all

michael

That is so true.......my older daughter is bi-polar and she can never focus on things for very long. Unless it is something that she is heavily into, she always told me that when she got the idea to do something else, she needed to follow that thought.

Hope you and Bonny are doing well!!flowerforyou  flowerforyou

Mixed feelings,

Did you know that everyone has at least 45 mixed feelings a day. At least 45 times during one day you have a feeling that you have to figure out what to do with. Some people get depressed, some make a nervous joke, some really do laugh it off, others use sarcasm cause they have no answer, some turn it into an analytical problem to solve. Regardless there is always a reaction to the feeling that manifest itself in some way.

you are a very wise man Michael.
I do believe all of us have the inner power to control our mind. The problem is that most of us just don't choose to do it because we have been trained since early childhood in the fact that it's a chemical disorder which needs the medication to keep it under control.
I don't believe in chemicals I rarely take medicaments. I have to be in extreme pain to do so. Probably the last time i did it was two years ago when I had a surgery and the pain was unbelievable.
We are strong. I believe in the inner power of each one of us. We just need to find our inner strength.

Lonely, you need to google some good sites on BP.......it IS a chemical imbalance, and meds DO work for some people. You can't be so smart and close minded at the same time can you?indifferent

no, no, no. I think I did not word it in a clear way. I hate when that happens. I'm not saying that a condition called bipolar does not exist. I know it exists. All what I'm saying is that our will is more powerful than medicines.

Thanks for the clarification but if you had to deal with someone who is extremely BP, in a manic or depressed state, you would change your mind.

Mind over matter doesn't work for physical disablities, which chemical imbalances are. Meds are no cure. They only help the person to do better and even get through thier life. I know that without meds I would be dead, so I have very strong feelings about this.
