Do you think there is a difference between going to a casino versus buying lottery tickets? Are they both gambling, or are they just different levels?

Both are still gambling to me, although at different levels.

Here in Alabama, it is illegal to gamble. They are even trying to stop bingo.

I agree, I know people who loose more yearly on lotto tickets than some do during a weekend in vegas.

maybe the government needs to ban everything in this country so it will stop all complaints from a chosen few........but i guarantee you they will be the first to complain about nothing to complain about.............

I don't disagree with either one, though I think the odds are much better at a casino.

Just like Keno, here in Maryland we have the Lottery, scratch tickets, and Keno...But we are not allowed to have slot machines...

Maybe when we all grow up here in Maryland we can have slots

earlier it was guns, now it's gambling........i happen to love the options we have in this country to make ourselves free from other nations........

My mother lives in CT and the casinos there allow for tremendous advantages and disadvantages. The casinos donate lots of money to the local hospitals and community in general.

It's my understanding the money from scratch tickets and state lottos are allocated in a certain way. What about the money from casinos? Are indian reservation casinos different?

Hopefully one of these days, the Southern Baptist Convention will find something more damaging than having a lottery to complain about. I swear that if they had not done that last minute *****fest a few years ago, we would have a lottery now. if only they knew exactly how many people drive to TN and GA to buy lottery tix. I know quite a few people here in birmingham..myself included, who drive to TN to buy them, esp right now when its like $250 Million.

Oh well...maybe one day the religious fanatics will quit trying to rule our private lives and how we spend our $$$.

In our state the Indian casinos just made a deal to hand over more money to the state to help with police, fire, schools etc. But then this week the state announced that they are cutting back all programs in all the schools so go figure. As far as I'm concerned it's all a big gamble in all ways.
