I came dragging in this morning
with my hat in my hand
She was waiting up to greet me
I could see she had it planned
She said you better give your best performance
it's your final episode
By now you've gotyour act down pat
So take it on the road

She said I've packed everything you need to be a star
You can play your grand finale down at the local bar
Just sing your little swan song to your beat up old guitar
And paint me out the villian but this time you've gone too far

I won't loose any sleep wondering if your feeling bad
You'll be telling everyone just how much you've been had
But you had me, I had a kid, and now that kids half growed
You've had time in fact to polish your act
Now tike it on the road
