Ok, lemme try... 1) Before you can be funny about something you have to be serious about it. Humor is lost without a reference point. 2) It's obvious you're not homosexual and are looking for a place to hang out with your friend - hopefully with lots of attractive ladies. 3) Contradictions or paradoxical statements can be hilarious in the right setting. By completely reversing your original construct then phrasing it in a falsely-concerned way he doubled the inconsistency and made a hysterical comment. It's just no fun when you have to explain is it?
